to our R24 tipping competition
Everyone is welcome to enter.

I'm unexpectedly away from the computer for a while - until midweek from now. That means sorting out the results from the R23 competition will be delayed until probably Thursday.
I'll sort everything out for R23 then, if not before.
I'm setting the R24 comp earlier than usual so that we can all get on with it as necessary.

There's a full set of eight games again this week.
There are therefore no byes and there aren't any more in the regular season.

Entries are allowed each week up until the kick off of the first game in the round
The first game this round is on Friday 17th August

ROUND 24 QUESTIONS:
*Poll Competition:
How many games will see a total of 50 points scored adding both teams scores together?
- enter in the poll itself at the top and put your answer in your posting.

Now for the main event of the week:
*Match Tipping Competition:
Name the 8 (that's EIGHT) winning teams in NRL Round 24 2012
*Points Competition
How many points will be scored by all the teams added together in R24?
This is a competition in itself and will act as a tie breaker for the match tipping comp if necessary. This is used as the decider when necessary so do give it a go.
*Away Win Competition:
How many AWAY wins will there be in NRL R24?

In rounds where the game is on the road and played at a neutral venue, the team named first in the fixture will be regarded as the home team for the purposes of this competition.

Fixtures:



Animated awards will be given for the winner(s) of each competition question.
Match tipping scores are added together to produce the Tipsters' Ladder which is pinned to the top of the forum topic list page.

A couple of Friday night heart starters to kick off the round

Phew - a couple of close calls there. The Storm game was a delayed transmission - they showed the Doggies/Tiggers game first live.
The commentary team suggested that draws should be declared at 80 minutes - there shouldn't be golden point time. I agree with that, the first of these games didn't deserve to have a losing side.
By the way we've all got a 100% correct record in the round now! Surprisingly that's the first time this season we've all got the first two tips of the round correct. There again it has been a tricky tipping season!

A couple of Friday night heart starters to kick off the round

What with the extra time in the first game it was an enthralling but also frustrating wait for the Broncos v Storm game I was keen to see.
Well worth the wait though!

Just the Monday game tocome now.
We tipsters started well but have had more mixed fortunes in the Sat/Sun games.
So far the points total for all games played in the round is just 289.
There've been 2 away games so far with just one game seeing 50 or more points scored.
As for the Dragons v Cowboys game three tipsters have gone for Dragons - BR, RLW and K
The five going for Cowboys are Ba, SS13, RF, GLD and SK
