The apathy shows again-no posts about today`s game.In a bored moment,I looked at the odds from Skybet :they rate us as a 7/2 chance off level pegging,with Donny a 1/6 chance.They give us a 14 points start ,otherwise.No poor bookies are there ? If we`re not going to win,then let`s hope to see : 100% effort , all the basics done right, (tackling done well,few dropped passes,low penalty count), a more open running game (ie not all up the middle) and some different options being tried.
I`ll be going partly out of habit and partly because of my season ticket but I`m also hoping for `something ` to attract me to going next season.Don`t know what the crowd will be,what with the Olympics,football on TV - 350 ?

Just got in from the game, another poor performance from a team with no heart or leadership at the moment.

The best part of the afternoon was the golf ball landing on the pitch and then being thrown over the wall into the car park by the referee.

If anyones car was damaged it was the Ref who did it?

Just glad the seasons coming to an end and hope we can regroup for next year.

Thought we looked like a team without confidence, which is understandable. Also thought we were very unlucky with some of the decisions. I also think that we need this season to come to an end as swiftly as possible. And actually think being in the play-offs is something we don't need. We should draw a line under this season now and look to regroup for the next one.

Today proved once again, if proof we're needed, that who is appointed as the new coach is the most important decision CH will ever make.

More enthusiasm from the lads and they never gave up.Crowd was 500 so better than expected and vocals well which was good to hear.Thought our play was a bit more imaginative but still too high a penalty count. Far too many high tackles. Basics really. No doubt the U23's will put on a good display on Sat. After that lets hope a coach is brought in soon to retain the good lads for next year.Many teams have at least one very good old head (Cook for example). Oldham are short of this.

Thought Cookson and Acton were great. Greenwood got a hat trick but barely got a touch of the ball and when he did he was swamped by Doncaster. The rest gave their best as they have done all year but they simply aren't good enough.

Next year we need wholesale changes. Keep the likes of Cookson, Ward,Thompson, Acton and Clarke but the rest can go. Miles will go back to the Championship as he doesn't deserve this standard of rugby.The rest are either too old or simply not good enough.

To answer Shaw Llewellyn:yes,it did .The table is an accurate reflection of where Oldham are,ie 3rd from bottom.As tub says,fish smell from the head-isn`t just Benson:yes,he wasn`t competent,so good to say goodbye to him..It`s CH.I won`t be buying a season ticket next year;I will go but will choose my matches.As I`ve said before,I think that the Development League could be good (although I wished we weren`t in it !!) with a mix of `young` and `old` sides,all with something to prove.Next season is really important for the continuing existence of a semi-pro team in Oldham:CH has a number of key decisions to make,all of which will indicate how he wants to run `his` business:which coach-who will work with him;which players to keep;entrance/season ticket fees;upkeep of the ground (`pig` and `poke` come to mind).Plus,if the club is really in debt (which I can believe),how is he going to reduce it.Based on what I`ve seen of CH,I don`t trust in his competence to get these things right.My old boss used to say:`follow the money`.I think that this sticks with CH , ie while he gets paid his salary,he`ll keep where he is regardless of whatever happens (eg 3rd from bottom in whichever League we are in)and regardless of what the supporters think.Pessimistic?-yes while he is the only decision-maker.

I've been very disappointed in Dallimore. He was consistently the best player in the reserves last year by a significant distance and in his couple of first team outings looked well capable of dominating at this level. However this year he has got worse as the season has progressed and im not sure he deserves a contract. Compare him to Cookson. He had a nightmare start against Fev and Dewsbury and looked like he couldn't tackle but has improved throughout the year and is now our best performer along with Miles and Wardy.

I don't think you've been watching the same games as us. He's been faraway our best player , and it's no coincidence that while he was sitting his ban out, we lost all three games, including hornets. His problem is that he is playing with an ageing half back, who is to slow in pace. Several clubs have been tapping him up during the season, one of them a super league one .
