Were they fit to play?

Thought your 18's MOM award was well deserved. One of the hardest working players of the game. You want to keep hold of him.

Nicholson best player on the pitch and unlucky not to score from his break and probably the best & only highlight of a dull game on a poor ground! Ours might slope but at least 26 players fit on it! 10 Vs 10 would give a better game!

To be fair there were only 18 fit players to choose from.

Is that your excuse for all of the games you have lost there since we moved in PM?

Don't forget the ref gave you nothing all match too.

hope there is nothing sinister in their absence - we really can't afford to lose either. Thought we defended well in the first half given the number of penalties we gave away on the line - we never seem to learn with regard to soft penalties. George F still not being given enough game time IMO. TBH broadbent hasn't really got enough time left to turn things arround for a side lacking in confidence and, understandably, going through the motions. On the good side, if fev had their spys out today, they'll probably decide to give our stars a miss.

He's not ours to keep! Dual-reg. player only.

I think you could be right grumpy.I dont think we will be picking anyone up from you guys in the off season this time.{Not because they are not good enough just a feeling we will be knocking on your neighbours door}

Well i have a feeling that Fev might still be having a good look at a certain Mr James Craven, will be shocked if he's not there next year.

These lads have had a rough trot , and today had at least five players that have hardly played all season, A new coach , players missing and not liklely to come back and no game plan .Not easy for all concerned.
From what I,ve heard today some of the players missing won't be coming back - and the rest of the squad don't
Know what's happening .
Considering the circumstances I don't think we did too bad
Good performances from Nicolson , Cosgrove ,Tonks and Craven who kept trying for full 80 min
Esders is a penalty machine.
I do think if we had kept Warren till the end of the season we might have had more people prepared to play.
Too much change too late in the season.

You can never have enough good players on your books, lets just say,Craven in a better side like Fev will be knocking on the door of some Super League teams.

I agree hes a good player andy no doubt about that. But i just dont see DP signing him and dropping anyone for him and i doubt we will sign a player on just to warm the bench as it takes up your salary cap and are backs are all signed on for next season now.Watch now ive said that we will sign half your team

Craven is a quality player and probably will be at Featherstone next year
I think there will be quite a few players that will be gone next year not just Craven.
Believe it or not some teams think we have some good players and if my info is correct
We,ll be missing a few of our regulars next season.

Really enjoyed today's match and left the ground feeling proud of how our lads played.

We had players out there who haven't played at this level in months, injuries to key members of our squad, others out of position, and all under a coach who's only been there for a couple of days.

Under those circumstances, I thought we did pretty well, with the only real negative in my mind the poor completion rate, particularly near Batley's line, although I have a feeling that was down to us chancing our arm a little more than a team should, which is understandable considering we headed into the game with nothing to lose.

I think the fatigue from having to make so many tackles in the first half probably affected our concentration with the ball in hand too.

Even though the match finished comfortably in Batley's favour, I'm still finding myself reflecting on the 80 minutes with 'ifs' and 'buts' in my mind.

If Craven had have gathered Patch's inside ball he was over the line, if Nicholson had caught the ball from the bomb on the stroke of half-time, if we hadn't thrown it in touch on the tackle after Joe Chandler's break...!

Having said that, it'd be a shame to focus too much on the near misses.

Our line was only breached twice, with Brown's decisive score coming against the run of play from a loose ball punted up field more in hope than expectation, and Matty Wildie's killer try coming from a Ben Black chip.

But Batley deserved their win and, while it'd be great to see them do well in the play-offs, it's comforting to know that they didn't get an easy ride in the derby.

One final point - I do wish we wouldn't do Featherstone's scouting for them. Batley are keeping hold of some of their best players for 2013, why can't we?

You are right in what you are saying about today's game,i'm proudof all the rams players today,it can't had been a easy week. for the boys in training.Your point of keeping our best players for next season,i thought the chairman said in one of his programme notes early in the season that players would be signed up from around July, clearly this hasn't happened because as i've heard,no players have yet signed for 2013.So you can see how we can't keep our better players, when other teams come in for them,i know of at least two teams making offers to one of our better players already.I'm not going to say who,it would not be right, but we need to move fast now to get our better players signed up for 2013 .

After the game today one of our fans was insistent that he had read on the Rams website that the club
were conducting interviews with a shortlist of coaches next Sunday and making an appointment the day after.
Has anyone else seen this because I can't find this particular news item.

Note to CF - Matt Nicholson is not a Dual Reg player he signed for us in June when he was released by the Rhinos.
Please try to keep up.

Fair post, Dewsbury toughed it out, Nicholson was the best player on the park, we didn't have our best day but credit Dewsbury for that, good luck for the future.

If Nicholson had caught the ball clean he would have been putting the ball down right under the sticks, and we would all have been gutted, because the Referee had already decided that he was offside. That's why he gave Batley the free kick instead of a scrum. I thought he was wrong, but then again I could be biased.

Oh I hadn't noticed that!

For what it's worth, I thought Brown was well onside for his 'kick and chase' try. That guy can shift...
