Today's game.

South Wales seemed to want to delay the play as much as possible and his led to an increasingly bad-tempered game which exploded into a full-blown brawl just on the half-time hooter. The upshot was that refree Merryck red carded two from each side and insisted Hornets went in before he would let the Scorpions enter the tunnel, the tempers were that hot. I thinjk the referee made a mistake in not sending Bullock off as he seemed to be the catalyst behind all the flare-ups but he remedied this about 20 inutes from time when Pilloc sorry Bullock used his fist in the tackle once too often.
The second half was always going to be a bit of a lottery with 11-a-side and the team making fewest errors would win. Thankfully that was Hornets, but it was also due in no small part to substitution of the Physio who was all over the pitch with his little man-bag over his shoulder, once they took him off the Scorpions were garbage!!!
Dale Bloomfield was selected as M.O.T.M. but it could have gone to a couple of others who were really stand-out players but Dale got a Hat-Trick of good tries so it was his accolade.
Tomorrow's report on TheseLadsCanRunFor80Minutes should be a real cracker.

The referee didn't really help with his way of handling the game, he let too much go on for me but for both teams and maybe the tempers were just on the boil and the lid blew off.
I'd say that all will get at least 2-3 games and the idiot number 5 was a complete moron, how he stayed on as long as he did is a mystery to me. He was in it at every tackle, pushing and lashing out with feet and arms, the ref finally got fed up of him and marched him on the hour I think.
One incident really shows how the officials messed up. Hornets started off deep in their own half, good passing and a great break saw the play go down the left channel and then under the posts for a try. Only then did the TJ object due to a Hornets sub coming onto the field in an offside position we think. Play was brought all the way back upfield and they scored from the penalty. The TJ shoulod have stood his ground and flagged then everyone would have been knowing something was wrong.
It's all part of life's rich pageant eh?

As a result of what?
We had come off a thrashing at London, partly due to having disciplinary issues ( Stanky said the discipline was completely unacceptable), so we should have known better than to get embroiled again. Easy to say, I know, but let's set a better example, let rugby do the talking and let the oppposition worry about their issues. We could be missing a few players if we contest the play-offs. Given the opposition for the last two games and that they will wish to finish Champions we will need to firing on all the right cylinders. Thankfully, our defence managed to return to the standard set a few matches ago.

Leadership starts at the top and Hornets have no leader that is respected at the top.

One interesting fact from the game is that one of the Scorpions subs who entered the field from the subs bench was rightly dismissed but that still left them with a player more than us on the field. So we could have a situation where all of the Scorpion subs enter the field to join the brawl, get dismissed but still have a player extra on the field. Surely that law needs amending as it keeps the advantage with the worst offending team?
With regards our negative press and brawls etc. has no-one EVER seen any brawls take place on the rugby field.
Finally, dont you get the feeling that Gary Middlehurst doesn't much care for Welsh teams

Middlehurst could be facing a lengthy ban then. What started it ?

The 3rd Scorpion to get his marching orders on 63 minutes was the on-loan from Wigan No5 Dumb (sorry Dom) Crosby. IMO their 24 Alan Pope should also have gone for his cheap shot on Roper in the dust-up as he was after mixing it for the full 80 minutes.

Take off your rose tinted glasses. I've seen the video. The scorpions player is in the floor on his back with a Rochdale player lying on top of him when middlehurst throws two punches into the side of his head. Same middlehurst who got banned for six games earlier in the season for punching and kicking. The boy need to grow a spine
