Considering there was only the official cameraman on the gantry and the initial incident can only be seen from the that side of the pitch I don't know how you can judge it from wherever your clandestine camera was. All the team watched the video last night at training and the first strike from underneath is clear to see! The RFL though will not judge on who did what first, but on who was involved and what was their role? Nothing to do with rose tints as sadly both teams with be devoid of several players for what is left of this season and maybe the start of next! End of!!!

I've not seen any footage of the incident but my experience of refereeing tells me that 'something' happened to make Middlehurst react in that way! Players don't just start swinging punches unless there is a catalyst that 'lights the blue touchpaper' as they say. This doesn't absolve Middlehurst, he should have known that the actions he took would spark a brawl, but hey ho.
No doubt the RFL will come down with the very large Jackboot and we'll have to face Barrow and Town with a few of our main men banned.

I remember many years ago at the Athletic Grounds - Rochdale v Doncaster - when 6 were sent off - I think David Taylor was one, - anyone else remember that night?
