There was no effect from the players, we looked like little boys against men today where as the side gone from the start of the season. We looked lost going forward our defence was non existant it was pathetic, Hawkyard brothers were good and Cuniffe was his ususal tackling self they are the only good points I can think of from today. Bit more fitness and game time Holland is coming good he put some big hits in today.
Speaking to a few of the fans today I can't not believe how bad we have been in last 2 games (conceded 150+ scored 20), my fear is that the players know something we don't. I really hope I am wrong and we just look like a side who as had a hard season and we are tired. Steve Mc as got some serious thinking to do for next season, we are about 6 good players off being a good side.
Watto needs to move into his coaching role he as been a good player but for me we need a younger fresh half back to support I anson, we need 2 good centre's and a winger to support Penny and couple of forwards.
Very disapponted Lions fan today, rant over.

I said at the start of the season if swinton where going down the DR route then they should have gone for a young half back and i think its just the end of a long hard season and nothing moreI have only just calmed down from todays game to write anything. I really can't believe what I saw today, I am lost for words (which does not happen often).

Swinton have got some very good players in their squad, today though, the players could not be arsed if they won/lost.
I doubt that was the case because if it was they all need releasing.

Steve obv was trying to see who deserves a contract next season for me hurst (although two tries) and dodd and reay had very bad games, times like this i feel sorry for gorski and foxen! two stand out players last season still deserve there place in my opinion.

Featherstone are obviously a much better team, but to lose by 70 points to a team in your own league is just wrong. I couldn't make it today, but it sounds like some of the lads are already on holiday.
After the NRC someone was going to kop the aftermath and its a shame it was you guys.If its any consolation i think thats the best we have played all season.

It's a massive year for us as relegation is firmly back in place, and not just back into CC1, but to a ridiculously poor CC1.
ATM we can't afford to lose anyone as we've only got about 24 players signed on!
For me, the following players are definite keeps...
Mort
D. Hawkyard
R. Hawkyard
Penny
Watson
Ainscough
Higson (if he's not already signed for Leigh)
I'Anson
I think the rest of the squad needs to be improved, forwards especially. I'm sure Steve Mac will make the right choices.
I do feel sorry for the likes of Gorski, Foxen, Reay and Hurst as they've not had much game time this season at all. It's completely in the hands of Steve Mac regarding the future of such players.
Over the last 2 games these players should be playing for 2013 contracts, so let's hope for some (a lot of) improvement!

Smith? We should definately look at signing brad dwyer from warrington on dual reg, he would tear defences apart. With 4 teams coming up its going to be even harder to attract good players, foxen and gorski should be recalled and given a chance in these two matches coming up, reay and hurst are not good enough for this league. Hopefully we will look to sign phil joseph when he gets released from bradford, in which case we could move I'anson to 7, we need decent props aswel as mills I doubt will want to stay if leigh is an option, and take out our dual reg guys and that leave morrison who is going aus and holland, we need half a squad, wouldn't panic about relagation though as there's 2 in our league below and 4 that are coming up!
I would'nt count your chickens about the relegation comment.Hunslet have had the worst injury hit squad this season.York have signed a decent coach who will want to impress and the 4 that are coming up 3 will be cumbrian and its always hard to win at their places so like i said the relegation comment might come back to bite you.

Will disagree there about worst hit injury wise comment - think us at York have had it pretty bad, have had
to sign on 3 college lads in the last 10 days to get 17 out on the pitch on Sundays, Chris Thorman had his
9th half back partner at Fax yesterday.

If relegation was in place for 2012, we wouldn't be going down. That may well change for 2013, who knows?! But going from 2012, we are the 8th best team in the league.

If Bradford signed Joseph as a prop and we are gonna be short of props wouldn't it be wiser to utilise him as such? Agree with moving Chas out of the pack now though as I've said all season no.7 is not a position for sentiment. Watto will do a great job in the coaching team and maybe occasional cover but we need a cracking scrum half now to make the breaks as well as have a kicking game!Smith? On Sunday you came up against a Fev team with something to prove after the Northern Rail cup final and an under par performance at York. Stick with your boys because there will be good times just around the corner and this season you've done well.

Not the sort of performance you would normally associate with a side coached by Steve McCormack.
