It looks like the disjointed fixture list may have caused problems at Keighley according to league express.

A statement by the club has rubbished reports that it had finacial difficulties but did admit that due to a lack of home games a cash flow situation had arisen.

Seems we are not alone.

In Keighley's case, it appears speculation began after the players were paid late. Some of their buys for this season, most obviously Sam Obst and Michael Korkidas, won't have come cheap.

Its true to say there aren't enough league fixtures at this level, at least changes are imminent to try and address that. On the other hand the clubs have known their fixture lists for some time and ought to have budgeted accordingly.

So again not a good news story, but at least the Keighley chairman chose his words reasonably well and dealt with people's concerns in a respectful manner without resorting to an attack on his club's own supporters.

Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

Strange though that their coach is leaving one year in to his five year plan.

Thought the piece with their chairman was very good. it seems the guy understands the nature of the fans relationship with the club and vice versa. perhaps a few lessons could be learnt.......on the other hand i doubt it lol
Dont worry, it will soon be Christmas!

He has been offered a very good job in Aus.
He would be mad to turn it down.

The cynics on here would be quick to claim that we would be naive to think that it has nothing to do with the coincidental financial troubles....
