sour grapes or do they have a point.

As an official myself i know how difficult it is at any level, but in my opinion recent weeks decisions have left me gobsmacked at what has been missed. I think Wane can certainly feel a little gutted over the Leeds game as that was an awful display from all officials. the forward pass on Saturday @ Warrington was 10meters forward, how was that not spotted? time for two refs as in the NRL? can it be afforded?

the final result in both those games are irrelevant as this is about the officials getting the basics right.

How disappointing - we've just had 2 weeks of various athletes around the world competing with such grace and humility and then we see this. Are these coaches really. honestly telling us that they've never been on the right side of a dodgy decision?
Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

What were the three tries in the semi final that Wane refers to?

Its always very convenient for coaches to blame the officals to cover up their and their teams shortcomings.

I take it you didn't watch the fencing then! Biggest set of moaners going in that sport!

It's hard to moan in athletics. There's not exactly much for them to look at!

To be fair to Wayne he didn't make any criticism of the ref in his post match interview, and laid the blame firmly at the feet of his own team. The quotes attributed to him look like responses to direct questions, and yes, one of the passes in the Warrington game looked to be miles forward, but he goes on to say it had no baring on the result.

In the quote about the three tries again he says they didn't deserve to win and it was the RFL who mentioned three.

So because we've just had the olympics the coaches shouldn't say anything about poor refereeing? There seems to be way too many dodgy calls these days, I think more coaches should speak up in the hope the rfl get a grip of it.

Yeah coaches (and fans) always conveniently forget the "poor" decisions that go in their favour dont they - and Wigan and Saints have most certainly had the lions share of those in past years.

Wane - Great coach, who has motivated his players well this year, but before the Warrington game he said he was upset by the loss to Wires last season at the HJ as they lost the battle in the forwards - great motivation for the Wire pack, something that TS eluded to after the game.

Wane is right to moan about the forward pass, terrible pass, but the upteen dropped balls, miss passes and poor conviction from Finch led to a WIgan team to under perform!!

If I was Shaun Wane, I'd be seeking to avoid that at all costs.
Astute analysis from a Wigan fan:

Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.

It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.

Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.

Have you actually listened/read his post match interview?

For you (and others) who like to hear/see what they think the person said and not what they actually said:

Wigan Head Coach Shaun Wane was less than pleased with his sides display in Saturday's loss at Warrington.
Speaking in the post-match press conference Wane said,

"I'm very disappointed. We didn't play how we trained all week and didn't trust the game plan. We made too many errors.
"I'm disappointed in our contact, how many offloads they got and how they won the floor. We came up against a team who wanted it more and that hurts. The players are certainly hurting down there (in the dressing room).
"Finch wasn't fit and he struggled through, but neither was Sam Powell nor Tommy Leuluai, and I couldn't move Lockers from the middle, so as a seasoned professional Brett put his hand up and did his best out there, but it just didn't work.
"To have one of your major halves out for 6-7 weeks is tough, but on a positive we've had some great performances this year. We've won big games including St Helens three times - at their place, Etihad and in the Cup - and at Catalans where other teams don't win. But I have to work harder, the players have to work harder and we all have to improve on today.
"I've got some players coming back. Pat (Richards) played 40 minutes in the 20's today, Tommy is aiming for Hull KR and Stu Fielden is 3 weeks off. Then we'll be back to full strength."

When asked about the Hodgson forward pass to Monaghan for Warrington's third try Shaun added,
"We missed tackles, we dropped balls. That happens. Referees sometime make mistakes too, they are human beings. I'm not bothered about that to be honest. They scored 30 points and that hurts me. It didn't change the game."

From: http://www.wiganwarr...?id=7434&type=1

That to me is very different to Mike Rush's attack on the ref after the game yesterday.

I just said it was disappointing. It's stark contrast to the spirit that has been on show during the olympics is the point I was making.

Just read the article. Rush has a point about the Lomax incident; tackled before he had caught the ball and held down after. That said, I think it was Meli's second try but it was a blatant forward pass from Dixon, which set up the try. These things swing both ways during a game (usually!).

On the forward pass :-

"It was unbelievable. I get a phone call every week apologising and I'm sick of apologies," the Warriors coach told BBC Radio Manchester.

So I only hear or see what I want, I apologise - I'm out of order and wrong!!!

Both fighters lights come on at the same time, both fighters think they made the scoring hit first, how do you decide who scored the point?

Like I said in my previous post, this was a response to a direct question and at no point did Wayne attribute it to contributing to Wigan's loss. Contrast this to Mike Rush out and out blaming Thierry Alibert for Saint's loss.

On the Olympic thing; there are plenty of sports where there is a mechanism for challenging the referees decisions and I saw plenty of challenges and changes to decisions. In the boxing they even had to sack one referee who was accused, and found guilty of throwing a match.

He also said

"Take nothing away from Wakefield, they were very good, have been on a good run of form and fully deserved the win because we weren't great...".

So not exactly blaming the referee out and out, although probably not showing Wakefield enough respect either. I don't think either Rush or Wane really has much to complain about, but it's nothing new to see comments like this in moments of frustration.
