Let me guess, our massive win against league leaders Barrow wasnt the top headline, Shaven beating Gateshead is.

From an outsider looking in is haven some kind of be all end all team in cumbria? Because surely a top of the table clash between the 2 best teams in your league should be the main headline. Also does that mean haven are promoted now?

The bias of the "local" paper is laughable.... They even made a story about JJP having a haircut as back-page headline news.

I was down at Morrison's this afternoon and noticed the froont page of the News and Star had a photo of a Haven player scoring a try. I turned the paper over to the back page and there was an even bigger copy of the same photo with the heading in about an inch and half bold print "Haven diving in to Championship". At the very bottom of the page there was a small piece entitled, "Town sneak win over Barrow" or some similar heading as I threw the paper back on the rack.

I offered praise on Friday to the Times and Star and Tony Harrison for their coverage of this weekends game for Town but I have to say that Mr Rostron the Sports Editor and his cohorts out west have once more shown their true colours. Absolutely disgusting treatment especially as both the teams in our game were from the county fighting for the league title not just having to beat a team that hasn't won in about 60 games to ensure promotion.
I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Horrible fans and rubbish ground DKW.Dont worry i will be at town and barrow just never liked the haven lot. They moan even if they win the league  .But my presence wont go amiss as we have the best away following in our league so im sure alot of coin will go to haven as we normally have more away fans than alot have home fans .But on havens defence it would'nt have bothered me a few years ago but ive got kids now and everytime ive been to haven {Which is alot} Its always been an hostile atmosphere maybe its changed but i dont want to take that risk with 2 kids in tow.

Heard from a few fans that they hate visiting that rabble, just wondered if there was anything specific.

We joked this would happen but now they are really taking the proverbial. Gateshead are at rock rock bottom despite Harold making them out to be some threat , and haven't won since the last time we had the Olympics , and they get the works... We sneaked a win and sneaked into the fanzine. Yeh right , I must have been at a different match.

Really? It has nothing to do with us winning over twice as many games as them and beating them at home and at their place...oh well whatever.

Good to see all three Cumbrian teams promoted lets just look forward to that.
