Just looked at this on the General Discussion board, it's showing Hemel Stags getting their ground ready for Championship 1 next year with pictures. Just shows how quickly it can be done and that the 3 month turn around that John Kidd has mentioned can be done.

Oh! Wouldn't it be luvverly if work at Agecroft began in September/October finishing by the time Christmas arrived. That's what I'd really like to see in my stocking this year.

Not a chance, considering there's not been a Planning Application yet. 2013 will certainly be another season "on the road".
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

Hemel are a great club who have built up their presence in their local community over the past thirty years. They'll be the main professional sports team in the town (and the wider north-west Hertfordshire area) next year, and have a good community programme to underpin their work. It's worth noting that they own their own facilities at their Pennine Way ground, with a clubhouse, multiple grass pitches and a fairly new all-weather pitch. Commercially they have a good lottery, and with assistance from Supporters Direct, are working towards outright fan ownership as a Supporters Trust. In many ways they sound like they are likely to be one of the more financially sound clubs in the Championships next year, although it's obviously going to be a step up for them.

I visited Hemel whilst I worked at the Lions - must have been in the 2008 season, the day before the Skolars away game. Really impressed with their set-up. The grandstand and, ultimately, National League (as it then was) status were an ambition then, with plans drawn up and partnerships in the pipeline. It's worth noting that this hasn't just sprung up overnight - it's been a five years (+) process. Saying that, the stand itself did go up in just a few hours yesterday I believe!

The club where Eurovision isn't a dirty word. A waltz through the leopard skin lined world of Tom Jones, Bert Kampfert and Burt Bacharach. Step out to the sound of the happy hammond and swing to the seductive sounds of the samba.

DJ's, raffles, cocktails and wide collars. Please dress smart. Gentlemen might like to wear a suit.

Same price. Same music. Same rubbish prizes.
