He played for Hunslet in the 1970's [I think]. Somebody told me he's now a millionaire. If we need a new chairman................

i remember him gabby , i think he went to St Joseph,s. In the days of the old "A" team he was touted as a real running second row forward and looked like he could be a world beater - much in the mould of John Rangeley, however like Rangeley, it never materilised. What line of buisness is he in?

Nah .. Rangeley was big and round . John McMcMunnely was really tall and slender.
I think he played Centre more than Second Row as he was more of a sprinter.

What about our millionaire supporter? Not quite sure of his name but I think he comes on this forum? He can always be found in the phoenix bar telling tales of Danny dobson & the ball going through his legs or debating who was hunslets finest between fearon & Coleman! Wish I could remember his name....

If he's a millionaire he was without doubt one of our greatest ever centres/second rowers. So great we should build a stand in his honour. If only we knew a millionaire to fund it....

The greyhound stadium was my introduction to Hunslet and I watched the game through rose tinted glasses. Have we ever had a better tackler than Jimmy Crampton or harder prop than George Standige? Heroes !!!

It was mentioned he was an architect but made his money from buying and selling houses what I gleaned from the conversation between my friend and somebody called Kev Watts down at Hunslet Warriors last saturday. They all played for Bisons together. It was also said he lives in Harrogate.

John was a good player. Played mostly in the Reserve team when we had a good team The A team won the Yorkshire Senior Competition cup, with Kenny Sykes as captain.
We have 2 or 3 millionaires who support us mostly from afar, so that is why there is never any risk of us going out of business.

So, the business plan is that we announce we are going out of business, then we will attract our sugar daddy. Super League here we come!

Don't think it works like that Penola, these people will not put their money in because sometimes they don't like the people in charge--- and then certain conditions will have to be met.

Come on then, enough idle talk it's boring now, spill the beans. What are these conditions? Who are these millionaires?

I'm sure we'd all like to know, more importantly I'm sure the club would like to know. Sort it out quickly enough Frisky & we'll have a shopping spree for next year's squad. I hear Slater & Inglis are available "if certain conditions are met", then again they might not like the people in charge eh?

Why are HIST busting a gut keeping this club going when if sh*t hits the fan, the millionaires will sort it? Sorry but my opinion is that is nonsense. The club almost went to wall before the season kicked off & I don't recall any millionaire fans taking the club on

I'm not sure it is tongue in cheek KOL. FF has said previoously he's not a fan of HIST, although I'm still not sure why. It would be interesting to know what these conditions are and why these millionaires sometimes don't like the people in charge (does that mean they sometimes do like the people in charge?).

p.s. I understand Sam Tomkins is able to talk to other clubs at the end of the 2014 season, so if we can get the politics sorted and get our hands on the massive bounty that awaits, maybe we can get him on board and push for an SL licence in 2015
