I see everyone is writing us off the grand final again. i think this year we are more prepared than last year if you look at last year we won 3 games out of our last few and this year we starting to hit a roll but everyone still writes us off but i think if we go to fax and win it should or will make everyone stand up and make us counted i hope everyone is ready to support us and i was looking at the date of grand final and the date of that weekend ten years ago seems a nice date and we had oz half back then

I can't see how anyone can write off the Dogs in the finals. They have beaten all those in the top half of the league at least once, apart from Sheffield and really should never have lost that game at the Mount. It depends how the last two games go.If, Featherstone beat Sheffield on Thursday, the Dogs will
finish third and result in a home tie.Things look good I would say. There is also a big difference in points for and against between the Dogs and Sheffield.

I personally think were a few playrrs short of a championship winning side.
Nothing to say we wont give it a go in the play offs, irs all down to who plays best on the day.
I think if JK. brings in 4 or 5 quality players in certain areas, and keeps the majority of the squad, next year could be our time to really challenge.

What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law

Yep, there's always next year - I've been saying that for years now!
Never write off the doggies.

I would say that Leigh are probably favourites to finish above us, so fourth might be the best we end up.
On the original post, I am happy for everyone to write us off. and for us to stay under the radar! I think we are in better shape than this time last year. We look fresher and fitter, we gave the impression last year that we were hanging on!
I agree though that we might be a couple of players short this year, but as for next season . . . . . . . .

i love been the underdog, all the better when another suprise comes along, the way we are playing will do me as we look fit and full of ideas on the park, if everyone raises there game to what we know they can play like then we can beat anyone thats for sure, i think we lack someone like preecie to do a bit a shouting and lead the lads on like tiger did and hit the gaps at pace a bit more to take teams on a bit more, things are looking good for end a season and into 2013 to upset a few more top teams when it counts.

Third or fourth is a home tie initially and we should fear no-one (Sheffield's turn is due!) in the top six, but I think a grand final win is two games away at best.

Fools if they do write off your chances. You might not go into the play-offs as favourites but that gives you the advantage that the pressure is off. The play offs are in essence a cup competition and that is why i don't agree they should decide the Champions as consistency over 18 games deserves more recognition but it is as it is and once the play offs start you're in with a shout.

If anyone is writing Batley off, I doubt it'll be the likes of Powell, Rhino, Aston et al. This is the strongest squad we've had since I've been going to the Mount IMO and I include the vintage 90s side in that comparison. We might not win the whole shebang this time round (although it is possible) but I'm sticking some money on us for 2013 as soon as this campaign is over. I think next season will be a big one to eclipse 2010, personally.

Me neither.
I wouldn't write off anyone in the playoffs (although, I have to admit, Keighley looked to have gone off the boil a bit last week).
On their day anyone can beat anyone. That's what makes this division so brilliant at the moment, it's total unpredictability.

It has been a fantastic season either way. Not just fronm Batley's point of view but for the whole of the Championship. Every side have been a force to be reckoned with. The quality of rugby played at this level just keeps getting better and better. So much better to watch than Super League. Roll on 2013!

Agreed chairman i go next season as well for success at least one more prop forward a backrower or two. We could do with a ball handler in the forwards rare i know. and definatly another strike player in the backs maybe two dont know if we may need a scrum half rumours are .......... well thats another story. But this season not over yet win Sunday then hopefully win at Halifax Think its Sheffield in play offs home or away.If anyone is writing Batley off, I doubt it'll be the likes of Powell, Rhino, Aston et al. Where are these posts because I cannot find them Some people are saying that we are not favourites now as well and in my eyes that just proves how close this season has been no one can call it. Batley has as much chance as us and any other team in the playoffs get your next couple of games over see where you are and then owt could happen I would say Batley have more chance this year than last JK is a good coach and he will have Batley ready for the playoffs
Good luck long as you don't beat Fev
