The new divisions are out with several teams moved including Clayton, Selby and Dearne Valley dropping a couple of divisions to regroup. What stands out to me is why are Knottingley Rockware Stolze in the Championship and if that really is Castleford Panthers' A team then they're in an awfully high division which makes me wonder if that's their first team? In which case it would be a bit low.

Knottingley have had a lot of locals go back to play for them from other clubs especially Selby who had been moving up the divisions so that probably explains those two clubs, just goes to show the Pennine committee don't seem to miss a trick B)

The Pennine committee seem to think that NCL clubs' A sides will fill with first teamers come November time. Wonder what makes them think that?

I know this because Shaw Cross ('A') are a development side and are a bit concerned about being in divsion 3.

Actually, putting them higher up may force the teams to use better players later on, kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy.

It's a combination of experience and human nature.

With a bit of luck, the Shaw Cross team will be moved down a couple of divisions. We were told that it wouldn't be possible unless we found a team lower down the leagues that wanted to move up. Luckily Whitkirk Bulldogs feel that they're better suited to Division 3 than 5. Hopefully the management will allow this change.

The team is full of young lads along with a couple of older heads that have come out of retirement as they think that they can still play at this level. Most of those old boys were having second thoughts when the team was moved up three divisions from the provisional leagues!

Yeah playing the first team in winter would be very stupid as you'd lose your reserve players and have to fold when March comes.
