From the RFL web site it appears that Bradddish, Hough, Donaghue and Bannister lodged early guilty pleas, these accepted and received respectively 2,1,1 & 1 match supensions. Given that they played on Sunday presumably they will have to make way for all the volunteers on here for the trip to Town? Middlehurst's case not yet decided. So our play-off team, if we make it, should be strong. An interesting scenario given that some of the higher teams may lose their dual registered players. We have to continue Sunday's performance for the visit to Town - so, volunteers, hope you are up for it - a bonus point would be useful and a large defeat has to be avoided. If Skolars win their two matches and Oldham hammer Gateshead it will be down to points difference.

Apologies for not getting this, but do the Play Offs count for anything? My understanding is the top 4 go up automatic, and the remaining six teams are joined by some other teams for next season. But the Play Offs don't affect promotion this season in any way, and is almost like a token competition? And what bizarre format are they using for the Play Offs, given the seemingly random 1st v 3rd, 7th v 283rd thing that seems to get used in SL?

It doesn't affect promotion this year, aside from the "prestige" of wining there is £20,000 prize money, a substantial amount at this level. It also extends the season and gives the teams involved more games.

Hi PooingDog
I read on Barrow site suggesting that the link gives the wrong information for the Play Offs and is for last year although all the other information seems up to date to me. I have no idea. This play off business confuses me every year.
Quote from Barrow site -
"That website is incorrect, it is from the season before to get the 2nd promotion slot with the champions up automatically
its
3 v 6
4 v 5
1 v 2 winner final
3/6 v 4/5 highest placed at home
loser 1/2 v 3/4/5/6 winner final "

Just had a look, not all cases heard yet, but it looks like we are getting the rough end of the stick as usual. From the RFL web site it appears that Bradddish, Hough, Donaghue and Bannister lodged early guilty pleas, these accepted and received respectively 2,1,1 & 1 match supensions.
