he should never be allowed to play again
Success does not consists in never making blunders, but in never making the same one the second time.

I think we need to be careful with this one as I think one of our players, the late great Karl Marriott, once came off the bench to join in with an onfield brawl?
No sine die

When making such statements the facts have to be correct. Karl Marriott was in the field of play when he head butted Huddersfield Substitute Martin Maiders who entered the field of play to join into a fight from the bench.

Karl DID NOT join in from the bench

Yes Hornets v Huddersfield, probabaly the fiercest brawl i have ever seen at a Hornets game, it had been brewing for a while, i can't remember what finally triggred it, but like the South Wales game a weakish ref didn't help calm the players down. The brawl was on the cards.
The great Alex Murphy pushed the Huddersfield subs onto the pitch from the bench as they where taking a bit of a beating when the brawl started.
There was a player for Huddersfield called Gary Coulter i think??? Hooker or Loose Forward and like the South Wales player who will remain nameless spent half the game getting little digs in here and there and generally annoying the Hornets 13. A strong ref with the help from his touch judges would not of let it get to that stage.

I seem to remember another RFL unprecedented punishment from that brawl, of £2000 for each club with an amount suspended, i am sure someone will correct me if i am wrong.
But most of all, that night i felt sorry for one particularly gobby female Giants fan who spent the entire game shouting abuse and general verbal c*ap that really shouldnt come from a ladies mouth, she took a cart load of abuse from the Hornets fans in then the standing area of the Wilbutts Lane when the fight kicked off. I even think she burst into tears and left. Her own making i may add. Hudds v Hornets games used to attract a good 2000 crowd, doubt we would get that now if we played them.

Hornets never do well at Red Hall on a Tuesday night, remember that THUG (Sarcastic) Latham Thawai getting a joke 5 or 6 games on appeal for bopping Richard Agar at Featherstone. He orginally got 2 i think and appealed, silly boy.
He did break Agars nose and whilst not condoning Lathams super punch, St Richard had spent a good hour leaving elbows, knees and digs on Latham. You could see it coming and boy it did. Pitty Richard never played with any agression when he was at Hornets for a short spell.
Phil Bull.

Hopefully my post are viewed as positive, and I cannot be held responsible for causing any offence to anyone associated with this message board

Just out of curiosity can you or anyone else recall what the Huddersfield players 'sentence' was handed out by the RL disciplinary?

Hornets did well at the disciplinary in the old Chapletown Road days when Jack Grindrod was chairman of the disciplinary committee. Alan Hodkinson always used to get sending off sufficient even after that spat with Big Jim mills on a Tuesday night at Naughton Park.
