A great way to end the league home matches with a 24-18 win Think we need a back-up place kicker for when Cook has an off day - 2 conversions only for 5 tries - could have been costly. Does this present the caretaker coach with the full time role? Even our nearest and dearest win which will make our trip to Town interesting.

Indeed, both Town and the Raiders suffered a bit of travel sickness today.

It was a tremendous match played in much better spirits than the game with the Scorpions last Sunday. Barrow's right wing had a real 'mare of a game. I wouldn't invite him to tea and use the best china anyway.

Hornets muscled up and really got stuck into their tackling and to be fair they made it very difficult, especially in the first half, for Barrow to make any headway. Their constant knock-ons really put them on the back foot and Hornets pushed upfield and made many chances but only converted three. Barrow on the other hand had few chances but took two which came from wayward passes by our lads. Barrow are a handful, with a big mobile pack and some decent pace in the backs but rarely kept the ball in hand long enough to do anything with it.

Barrow were better in the second half and kept us away from their line for long periods, but yet again they couldn't keep the ball long enough to pull back the difference. Hornets finally wore them down and got the lead back to two scores and then used their gumption to keep Barrow from getting into dangerous positions.

I only mentioned to Dr. Dave before the game that this season we haven't had that day when we rain on someone's parade and surmised this might be the day?!?!?!

Well done one and all.

Incidentally, I included an interview with the peop-le who are building the club down at Northampton and would like to get feedback if anyone has any.

Pugwash.

Dont you think thats a tad unfair to call Crooky's goal-kicking "off" considering that three of the attempted conversions were almost from the touchline?

A great game today played by two committed teams, and played in the right spirit.
Although our defence was spot on, Barrow coughed the ball up many many times and you dont win games giving the ball away.
For me, the gamebreaker was the tackle made by Wayne English on the far side of the ground, when the Barrow winger looked odds on to score.
That was an absolute game saver and only the class of such an experienced fullback could have made the winger take the touchline option.

That game was one of the highs of our up and down season, well done to all our lads
RUGBY LEAGUE WITHOUT ROCHDALE HORNETS IS LIKE AN UNSHARPENED PENCIL, THERES NO POINT?

Best team won today. Our ball retention was awful.
What a poor turnout by your speccies, 400 odd in total and a large part of that was the Barrovians in attendance.

Here's a good one for you, mass brawl on full time at the Whitebank, both sides got one red and one yellow. Congrats on your win, nice to do the cumbrians in your own back yard when you've had a bad season eh?. I've said all season that none of these Cumbrian sides look special, nor do Donny. good luck in the play offs, we aren't quite there. Roll on Law cup!!!
In the First 48.....

Enjoy your win, you deserved it.
But did I touch a little nerve there?
That sounds a little like I'm gloating, but really I'm not I want to see rugby league thriving and a great club like Rochdale deserves to succeed. Your players today put up a fantastic fight ( no pun intended after last week).
Today was a great advert for the thrills of our game, it's such a shame that there were not more people there. I note that there were over 2000 at Spotland yesterday and I bet it wasn't a patch on the game today.
Fans are fickle they want to see a winning team and next year you will certainly be a winning team. Conversely with that team in the Championship we will probably struggle.
Good luck next year!
