Alex Walmsley. Signed him this season from local amateur side, Dewsbury Celtic. We'd do well to keep hold of him for 2013.
His brother Liam signed for us around four week back also. He played today, coming on as a sub in blue head band.

Oh, did I get the numbers mixed up? I think the reference to the namming of 'The Beast' led me to think Walmsley.

Alex is contracted for 2013. I hear talk that he'll definitely be staying for another season at least, given his commitments outside of RL. Intelligent lad with a career path in mind, supposedly.
What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?

I do hope you're right about him staying old pal! Even though he is contracted to us, he could still end up in SL though if the bright lights and glamour attracts him, and good luck to him if he does. We'd make a bit of compo for his contract though and KN as said he'd never stand in the way of a player wanting to go to the dark side!

There's been a rumour around for quite some time now about a certain side from the other side of the Pennines running the rule over Alex, but even if that rumour ends up being a truth, in terms of the lad's development, I'm pretty sure another year's experience (at least) under JK and his team's guidance would benefit Alex enormously. With the right guidance and if he can stay injury-free, I can see him as a future test player.

No-one minds letting players play at a higher-level Andy, as long as they have a 'get-out' clause in their contracts - as players at Batley have had in the past. I understand that Alex doesn't have one of those clauses, and would hope that Mr.Nicholas chooses to play tough over a transfer fee if anyone from SL did come in for him. I'm all for players getting the chance to move up level, but not to the detriment of the pro club to which he's contracted.

According to todays press, JK says several SL clubs have been watching Alex but now one has firmed up their interest. Reading between the lines it looks as if he may well be signing for them. Good luck to him if he does, but as Chairman LMAO says, perhaps another year on loan/dual reg with us would be beneficial to him.
