It's that time of the season when we are asked to pick our player of the year. Where do you see it going this year in what could arguably be our best squad ever?

Will it be one of our fearsome forwards? The fastest player in Championship rugby? Maybe one of the best half back pairings ever seen at Mount Pleasant/loverugbyleague.com stadium?

Whoever takes the accolade this season really will have something to be proud of!

Mark Applegarth hands down.

If he doesn't win it then there's no justice in this world.

What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law

On the voting forms on the tables in front of the teams new transport it asks for a man of steal, and also one for the ladies, The rear of the season lol.

My player of the year would be Ben Black, after a slow start.

My man of steel Mark Applegarth.

I'll leave the ladies section alone.

Purely for sheer consistency it has to be Ben Black this year, IMO. Honourable mentions to Applegarth, Moore, Potts and Walton as well though.

Funny how things change 12 months on, but I'd take Black over Handforth every day of the week now. It'd be interesting to see just how many tries he has created this season for his team-mates.

Applegarth has been immense - a real workhorse with no duff performances.

Moore is a much better player for his time at Wakefield and complements Black so well.

Potts and Walton have both had brilliant seasons too - it's a real hard choice.

But Black for me.

I agree with both posts above and agree that Potts and Walton are well up there too.
