what if the s/l club aren't happy with the coaching their young lads are receiving and want one of their coching staff in place at your club. where does it end. how long would a chairman put up with this kind of thing before walking away. i have watched fev from the mid fifties, and i didn't sign up for this garbage. there are a lot of clubs in the lower divisions with proud histories and great achievements, what a shoddy way to treat them.

The problem is though, that if this issue is debated and voted on by all clubs, most of SL and the likes of leigh, who have benefitted hugely from dual reg already, and presumably hunslet for (for financial reasons) will be almost certain to push for it and devil take the hindmost. It means well run clubs like fev, who pride themselves on bringing on their own youngsters, allied to a few shrewd signings (usually from the rams) stand to get left behind if they boycott the idea. It's a joke that well run clubs who try to stand on their own two feet will, in all likelihood fare worse, than those lazy s.ods who would prefer to take crumbs from the rich mans table.

i agree, but the rfl don't have a very good record when it comes to looking after the lower leagues. i wonder if "all four cup winners" swinton and hunslet thought it would ever come to this

If this does go ahead is there a specific amount of players each club has to have or is it up to the club themselves, is it short term or all season which makes me ask is it really any different to what most teams are doing right now

This is what makes the current debate impotent. There are some very broad suggestions presently on the table but they completely lack any detail which, equally, makes them difficult to disagree with. It's like trying to catch fog in a fishing net. Leeds/Hunslet may be seen to have jumped the gun a little yet all they have done is to reach a very broad and vague agreement about interactions between their coaching/commercial set ups and a preferential input of junior players into the Hunslet club.. If (when) the suggested changes become firmer in detail Leeds will already be one small step ahead of the rest. Mr Hetherington strikes again!

Isn't that what we were supposed to be doing with the Bulls ? Apart from a few friendlies we haven't had too much out of that arrangent - I suspect the same may apply to hunslet. Anyway, i thought Rhinos had a tie up with york

Did you think this agreement was supposed to be to the benefit of Hunslet? Oh GOR, the sunshine's made your cynical streak fade!
