It's on the Haven forum tonight that Bamber broke his arm yesterday!!!!
I remember when .............................
"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

According to his twitter account he is off on holiday to Crete next Monday, so wouldn't be available for the Gateshead or Rochdale games anyway.

Theres a number of players missed games for holidays this season so we cant start blaming lads who have them booked. I cant believe that we are second in the league we have had a great season and we still have people on here criticising the players - get behind them until the end of the season
Forget Chuck and Chad I am the real legend killer

Most of you are starting to sound like jam supporters these players your slating have got us promotion and deserve a bit more respect me thinks..I'm all for opinions but FFS we are out on our arris here with injuries which is out if the boards hands,to say the squad was to small is balls because you can't keep everyone happy with only a first team!! Well done to bamber I say,the lads improving all the time but with ###### like this written I'm afraid it helps no one...

That wasn't aimed personally it was aimed at any player taking holidays and missing games when there are so many free weekends during the season!
As for keeping players happy, looking at the T&S website town have used over 30 players this season and are now almost down to the last 17 available. To run a reserve team on that basis would need a squad in excess of 50 which must be unsustainable in anyone's eyes.
If all of the players had the attitude of James Robinson or jack Gaskell rather than spitting the dummy when they don't get picked and disappearing that might help

Yeah he is on his hols, so what. I went on holiday when I was supposed to work. It's just a job at the end of the day, just the same as all of us. If olstrum(wherever he is) or matty returns then we wont miss him too much. I would be more worried if bretts not back and Elliot is suspended then it could be cotter at full back

We should get a campaign going to get school holidays banned during the RL season, (or move the season to winter).

That's right , any body that's not there at this time is unfortunate , but you need your key men- Matty , Carter and Eliott more than anything else. Our key men are gonna win or lose us games now . It's there availability thats most important .Im not a huge fan of Bainbridge and it's hard to see him figuring next term but two things, anyone who goes out on the paddock, especially at his size ,is hard to criticise , and it's unfair comparing him to Matty as anyone would look poor with that comparison! ... The Crete joke was funny though!

But when there's a close season of 5 months and numerous free weeks why take a holiday when there's games?

Because like everyone else he will only be able to get time off of his full time job at certain times of the year. And for them dates to match up with whoever he is going with. If it was 3-4 weeks ago this would be a non topic as he wasn't even getting in the squad, so give the lad a break.

I started this thread because someone had said on the Haven forum that Bamber had broke his arm. That was not true, so why someone should post that I don't know??? I did not start it to have a witchunt against Bamber or anyone else. The lad is going away on holiday for a few days with his mates and it was booked months ago for this weekend (no matches because of Cup Final). The lad did not know that the gateshead match was going to be postponed and re-arranged for next week but in any case he could be back by then, so there is no problem with him going away. Others have done it during the season without any comments being made. I am just pleased that the lad has not broken his arm so Have a good holiday Bamber lad.

Complete morons in the main DavidM, you should have seen them celebrating our defeat like they had won the league themselves, it was embarrassing.

If that's the case then I fully support him going on holiday as it's good for them to have a break. What I don't agree with is players taking holidays on weekends where fixtures have been planned since they were announced the previous December. If the coaches can organise their holidays around the games then surely the players can
