As an outsider, so to speak, but a Town supporter non the less, who has been to every home game this season and missed few home games over the last few years, and one who has always read the comments on this forum for many years also.
I have recently registered on this forum, to say this, it is time to get behind your team. That team consists of the board, players and supporters who have given their all this season, and how well they all have done.
Ok, Town might not win the league, because they lost at Oldham. That's only one game. But don't forget Oldham are a club also, and had a lot to fight for, and they won their most important match of the season, to keep them in the play offs.
I was not there but listened to the game on the radio, Oldham played very well against an injury ridden Town team, and very much won the game. So well done Oldham.
That's all history, there is still a lot for Town to play for, and should any members of the Town Board, or Players ever look at this forum let us all, let them know we appreciate the fact that they achieved their goal set out for them at the start of the season, which was to gain promotion.
And do
not let the fact that any disappointment has set in because Town may not win the League detract from an outstanding season. Well done all.
"Come on the Town" good luck with the run in to the end of the season, and no worries if you don't win the League, though I do fancy watching you in the Play Off Final, you have done really well, once again well done team.
And I ain't even in the Blue and White Army.
If you support the team let them know on this post/Thread.

Brilliant post mate, sums up the situation excellently. I cant believe some of the things I read on here after the Oldham defeat, the most ridiculous of which where people calling out Board out. This is easily the best board we have had for a very long time and have done everything they could over the last 2 seasons yet still people question them.

I guess its a case of the higher the expectations the harder the fall. Town at full strength had imo the strongest team in this league, credit to the board and to the players. At the start of the season I would have taken promotion only without hesitation, but it was clear we could have gone all the way. Things haven't quite worked out with injuries etc and it looks like we are in danger of finishing weakly and raised expectations are being dashed but I'm sure even those that get carried away and overreact sometimes on this forum are just venting their understandable disappointment and frustration and will still be there cheering Town on at the last match whenever it might be....... and who knows....we can be sure this side won't just lie down.

I agree Oneday and it is the frustration that people are expressing in their disappointment but I'm sure that all the board members, coaches and players are all expressing that same frustraion in their own different ways. I support the board of directors and will continue to do so and they have achieved what they set out to do at the start of the season and that was to get promotion out of this league. We have been trying for 8 years or so to achieve that and finally done it so even though we seem to have lost the big prize we still have had a very successful season and haven't we all enjoyed that success.

We had one hand on the £50k prize which would most certainly have been a big help financially for next season when the salary cap limit is £300K (up to £400k in some circumstances) and it would have been a big help in the quality of players we would be able to recruit. The frustration comes from knowing such facts and the thought of how it will affect next seasons crowds which we need to boost. If we finish second we will get two smacks at getting to the play-off final and we can still look to soften the title blow in that competition, providing we have a fully fit team.

It's not what we all wanted over the past few weeks but my goodness it's a lot better than we've had for the past few years. Come on Town.

Totally agree with you both. I've heard noone saying such extreme things as get rid of the board , but people get disappointed and frustrated , especially when we manoeuvred ourselves in to such a position. People should be allowed to be positive and negative when warranted . Fans are passionate , opinions come because people care - where would we be if we didn't? But at the end of the day, regardless of any moaning, we'll all be there experiencing the ups and downs as long as we're around and cheering them on , because it's our club and we love it. Ups and downs and rolling with them is in all town fans DNA , but would you be anywhere else?!

History repeating?? You just never know. I've thought all season though that it's all about us- we play well and are healthy , especially with our key personnel , and it's all ours. We've been poor against Oldham twice and lost.. But the main frustration now is how healthy our roster is. Get the players out and we've no worries in the playoffs, but it remains to be seen what lineups in back to back big games we'll have. We need our big guns on board. It's still about us, only losing players changes the odds. Fingers crossed on injuries/ suspensions. The side who gets their best team out on the paddock wins at the back end of the season

I think the major disappointment comes from the fact that the ability is there but the players didn't perform. It's easier to take when the ability isn't there as the expectation is lower, but the board have put together a side who should be winning games like that regardless of the injury situation.

Yes we should have won and didn't, but we can only look forward now. We have promotion in our pocket and a great season in terms of the rugby we are gonna watch next term awaits. And we can still be champions. There is no side to fear...we haven't blown it , the biggest prize is still there and a top two finish gives you a hell of a chance at grabbing it . We can still turn a good season into an unforgettable one. Now is not the time for what might have beens, it's time for going all out at what can still be

He's pretty poor to be honest isn't he. He was goading the town fans last time we were at Rochdale, so deserves all the stick he gets on this board.
