In this weeks edition of Headingley Carnegie Insight, Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Brian McDermott looks ahead to Saturday's Carnegie Challenge Cup Final against Warrington Wolves.

HOW ARE YOU APPROACHING THIS GAME?
We are certainly not going into it fearing that we might lose the game just because we have lost the last two. That is what sport is all about, when you fall, you pick yourself up and you go again, you don't just stay lying down bemoaning the fact that you fell in the first place. These are the games as a player or coach you are desperate to be involved in and there is a great buzz around the group this week as we look towards the Warrington game.

ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO PITTING YOURSELF AGAINST YOUR OLD MENTOR AND FRIEND TONY SMITH?
I think Tony Smith is the greatest overseas coach we have ever had in this country. You only need to look at his record at Huddersfield, Leeds and Warrington to see that. Not only has he made those teams successful but he has changed the entire culture of those organisations for the better and left a lasting legacy when he has moved on. I have a great deal of admiration for Tony and have always gone on record to say how much I learnt from working alongside him. We face a very tough Warrington side on Saturday, not just because of the talents they possess as individuals but because those individuals are coached by Tony Smith.

HOW IS YOUR SQUAD SHAPING UP?
We have done a good job of getting everyone through the Catalan game and trip in good shape. We have a few bumps and bruises but you tend to find they clear up pretty quickly on a week like this. We have got Rob Burrow back in the squad this week and he is chomping at the bit to be back involved. There is a tremendous spirit within the group and everyone wants to put together a quality performance that will need to be equal, if not better, to our showings against Manly and Wigan in the semi final.

Could this not have been added into the Match thread?

Yes, I suppose it could, but does it really matter?

Posted here it takes up space. Added to the bottom of another thread it takes up space.

There is a lot going on at the moment, and the very same number of hands to do it as there are when times are quieter. A little tolerance would be appreciated.

:-)
