News tonight that Nottingham Rebels will not be joining Championship One.How we will regret not gaining promotion this year. One less side will mean financial disaster on a huge scale. If we where not in trouble this will certainly put us further in the mire.Possible solutions if no more sides come in we could have the teams in the Championship One playing each other 3 times as we will not be able to combine the two divisions too many games and a massive difference in playing standards.Yet another nail in the coffin'

I think this will allow Coventry and Oxford in
In the First 48.....

Hemel and Coventry should have the best chance of making it. Gloucester seem ok and link to Uni could work off the feild (development etc). Oxford are unknown really, one amatuer team + uni links but no idea who the backers are.
With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Oxford have folded. Coventry is a maybe. So 8 or 9 teams unless they dream up something else.

Come on BR, it may not be student RL but there's no way our once great club should be rubbing shoulders with these clubs.
Its a total disaster that we are in this league.
Northampton pulled out, Oxford folded... and this is supposed to be the future? Rugby league is a joke

We are in the league we currently deserve, because we are not good enough. It's our fault we are in the league we are. Not the RFL's.

Yes correct, p155 poor management on and off the pitch have meant we have missed out on promotion.
On top of this, the RFL have created this new league structure which is clearly not working if teams are pulling out and folding up as well as threatening our existance.

Totally agree, it's a disgrace that the RFL have come up with this stupid bl---dy idea anyway. It would have been better to make the league up with top amaetur teams than this farce. The worry is if teams are pulling out and folding now whats going to happen during the season and are the RFL going to bail them out. I can't believe teams such as ourselves and Hornets are in this mix.

The top amatuer teams could of applied but for whatever reasons none did or do. Why we still stick to this amatuer/pro divide god only knows.Totally agree, it's a disgrace that the RFL have come up with this stupid bl---dy idea anyway. Wasn't aware that Oxford had folded. One of the Directors from London Skolars told me that Oxford were going to be the 4th club to C1.

Would clubs/players from NCL want to declare their expenses properly?Would they really want to step down a level??!!
(All clubs are of course strictly amatuer and I am in no way suggesting that players get expenses, they all of course pay to play)
