Well there's a turn up for the books, I only just had a positive sounding interview in the Barrow programme with the guys at The Rebels and now this!!
Just as a matter of interest, did anyone have anything as far as feedback from the interview?
Pugwash.

Another farce from the RFL, to go along with Bradford Bulls fiasco, the dismanteling of The Great Britain team, and the awful bonus point to name but three.
The withdrawal of Northhampton, means that at the present time there are only 8 clubs in Championship One for next season which will give Hornets 7 home games. Yes that's correct SEVEN home games.
Our season will be so disjointed with lack of teams to play anything can happen. I'm now waiting for Hemel & Glouster to withdraw!!!
Time to sack Neil Wood and the other idiots who claim to run this wonderful game of ours. Ruining it much more appropriate!!

Hemel certainly won't withdraw, they're a very solid club though perhaps not the strongest on the field. But I wouldn't be surprised if All Golds and/or Scorpions did (the South Wales league has probably folded)Another farce from the RFL, to go along with Bradford Bulls fiasco, the dismanteling of The Great Britain team, and the awful bonus point to name but three.

I don't know about sacking Neil Wood but I would certainly sack Nigel Wood.
I remember the last time there was an 8 team league and the clubs played each other 4 times. Workington met Carlisle 7 times that season and it was something i hoped never to see again in RL.
I remember when .............................
"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Will the RFL create one Championship Division for 2013, particuarly if others now fall away?
Those extra home games would help all clubs to swell their coffers and some top games.
The likes of Gateshead may struggle, but if they have the impetus to build for meeting teams like Fev, who knows?
An 8 or 9 team division is of no use to anyone, 10 wasn't too great, and something needs to happen for the benefit of the clubs and not the egos at the RFL.

I suspected that Northampton wouldn't last that long, tho' did think they would last at least one season.
They were fronted by soccer business men who assumed they could add an income stream throughout the summer, the problem is there's no money in rugby league, as they've just realised.
I think Hemel will make a good addition to the league, they're not in it for the money. I'm not as sure about Gloucester.

No surprise really - they announce venues for the world cup before they can be confirmed, they announce expansion teams that dont make the starting line. Due Diligence seems to something that hasn't reached red hall. And the notion that there are others waiting . . . presumably they were less suitable for expansion than Northampton.
Wood-cutting will not be enough - the whole administration needs to be replaced. Not going to be easy keeping our best players to play in this butcher, baker and candlestickmaker division. I expect Mayfield will face stronger opposition than hornets next season.

How about 4 to be relegated from Championship next year
Wouldn't half make the end of 2013 season interesting!

Mayfield applied for Championship 1 but must be glad they didn't get in now. Then again the RFL may come knocking soon if they don't have enough teams. No surprise really - they announce venues for the world cup before they can be confirmed, they announce expansion teams that dont make the starting line.
