Hope Faal and Austin will be fit to play on Sunday, but it will be touch and go for both, does anyone know if George Flannagan is fit to play?Paul Broadbent was aiming for finishing on a high, and although I think Sheffield will bring loads due to being in the play off mix, we will give them a hard game due to playing for pride, so I think it will be Dewsbury 26-30 Sheffield att. 1260. I predict the team will be

Ho hum!
I also contend that September and October were always the best months for playing RL with a little bit of warmth in the air and the ground taking a stud. How any sensible system can have us beginning a season in the frosts of February yet ending on Sept 2nd beggars belief. I hope that the forthcoming meeting of Championship chairmen can address this issue amongst the many others that they will discuss.

Dead right about the season - have we denied anybody a brownie point ? I know we haven't taken many. I have to admit, I am a bit puzzled about the RL's firm belief that summer starts round about january - much better to start round about april and go through to december I would have thought, but I suspect sky are calling the tune on that one. sheffield to give a brave but inadequate defence a thumping, with one or two of our better players being dropped to look at the fringe players. Rams 12 eagles 42 att 700This season has been outstanding for not having a single memorable game throughout - we have won all of the matches that we expected to win and lost all of the others without really challenging. Within a year or so I will be hard pressed to recall a single game from this season thanks to its largely mundane quality. I expect this match will complete the set - we'll get beat after putting up a spirited 60 minutes but the final score will not be close. Lose by 14 - 22 points I predict. Att 840.

I hope so, but is Broadbent going to play him?

MOM: Nicholson
If we're doing MOM then I will guess akaidere as I think he will just have a quality match for his last game of the season

Good post as ever BSJ, but I would think one game could stick in the mind for a season or two. This was the home match with Leigh. I will remember this because with 10 mins to go we were in the lead and when the final whistle went we hadnt even managed a bonus point....
The home victory against Keighley was probably our best game, but as you say it wasnt especially memorable.
On your point about summer rugby I couldnt agree more, but suspect we will never win this one....

I reckon the only thing to guess at will be the attendance - with nothing to play for and many supporters fearing the worst, it could leave us with the seasons lowest crowd. Add to that the fact that the weekends weather might have given a fair number of folk the incentive to hit the road for one last blast before autumn - I don't reckon I'm going to get jostled much in the bar today. This is another match I believe will see victory for the opposition. Sheffield can move up a place if they win and Batley lose at Halifax, so have reason to play for something other than pride. We, on the other hand, with nowhere to go, must vastly improve our defence as those who witnessed the Hunslet game will verify.
