Just found out that the Agecroft stadium project exists on a Wikipedia page.

Anybody any idea who launched this page?

I'm trying to work out who did it on the style of the writing. Hopefully it's someone at the club since who else knows officially if the monies have been rasied?

I can't shed any light on this other than similar overtones were discussed at Featherstone. I stress even on that occasion it was unofficial.

Whoever wrote this they need to work out how to use the word however in conjunction with commas and full stops.

I assume "not too distant future" is measured using a geological timescale.

Quite a few inaccuracies (and since when has "operating at semi-pro level" been a show stopper?).

Probably penned by someone with an interest in new sports stadia in general, perhaps through involvement in a similar development project elsewhere.

Just looked at the wiki page and it says edited 27th august 2012, not too distant future? next century more like. As i have said before more info from the club re:agecroft is required asap a statement should be issued from the club to at least clarify where home games will be played next season.

Haven't the club said they are hoping to call a meeting in early September! Let's just see what transpires

To be fair the club have said a meeting will take place in September. however, they have not said what year. Willy Hills are giving odds of 10/11 of it being September 2072! ;-)

I just hope that at this meeting we will know one way or another regarding Agecroft! I just hope it's not that talks are ongoing! if its good news then let's see some detailed plans of the stadium together with representatives from the other partners in the project and representatives from Salford City Council.

It would be especially nice if we could see some recognition from the club that a strategy of "decide, announce, defend" is not the best path to tred, as what results is unlikely to be optimal.

The hope has to be that the facility will be around for a long time. Probably beyond even the tenure of the current owners of Swinton Lions. It is important to get certain things right to ensure sustainability. Let's learn from some of the mistakes that have been made at Barton and avoid a repeat.

If consultation is only done at the end of the process, under duress to comply with the requirements of the Planning Laws, the emphasis will be an attack from people out there who don't want a stadium to happen. Openness at an earlier stage gives opportunity to connect with more positively minded groups, which can help strengthen the case for planning approval to be granted and generate useful ideas to improve the fitness-for-purpose of what is ultimately built.

I think the more we all talk about agecroft on every topic the more likely it is that it will be built...............
