The only time cut price season tickets work is if you have a lot of floating fans who attend a few games. You want to entice them to every game so dropping the price works because you would sell a load more. Unfortunately the only people who would buy season tickets whether they are £50 or £150, are the same fans who always buy them. We need to increase the numbers but I don't think slashing season ticket prices is the answer.

Totally agree

The Northern Rail cup is a knock out comp; next season and is not included in the season ticket as you may not get a home game.

So only thirteen games then, makes the York season ticket prices steeper still !! £176 works out at more than £13.50 a match  ... sadly, I can't see many of your stayaways from this season coming back at those prices.

Me too. There are creative ways of offering discounted season tickets, but just slashing prices below break-even level to all and sundry won't be of any benefit to the club whatsoever.

The season ticket also gets you into all four of our teams home games, so well over 20 games. B)

What are the extra 4 games. The NR is only in a league format for Championship 1 teams. All Championship teams enter at a knock out stage and as such are not garanteed a home game. So if you are lucky enough to go on a run in either the NR and Challange cup you may get a few home games but it could be None as well.

I think he meant that they get to watch York's other teams for free as well as the first team, ie A team, Under 18's, Hull FC etc

All genuine suggestions are welcome, i dont think your idea has been thought through to be honest, can you give some genuine answers to the questions, you say drop tickets to £50, why £50? whats the basis for 70% decrease in cost? What is the club to gain from this? how will this impact the club financially? what is the long term aim of season tickets for £50? Is it to increase footfall or provide the club with funds in the short term?

I've not really thought this through but here goes...

I'd set season ticket prices at £12/game - so whatever that works out at once we've agreed the number of games. Also, the tenner for a mate was a nice benefit.

I think the challenge is how do we turn the occassional match day fan into a regular. So what about an incentive scheme:

e.g. your first match is full cost (say) £16, if you come to the next match its £15, the next one £14, the next one £13 - it holds at £13 so long as you keep the run going. Once it breaks you revert back to £16 and start again.

Not thought out the logistics - perhaps only offered to HIST members and they have a card marked each game.

The thinking is if your on £13 it may make you get off the sofa on a cold wet Sunday, rather than "just miss this one".

Somebody once said and i think it was KOL that you will not get them out of the pubs unless you offer free beer, so why not try either reduced drink price vouchers with the season ticket or so many free drinks over the season, to be redeemed in the Phoenix bar only. Just a suggestion.

I still think that a free bus picking up at all the pubs and clubs in south Leeds transporting supporters to the Stadium would get people to come to games, the stadium is only really accessible by car or a £5 taxi, put a free bus on you will get peole who maybe won't have bothered willing to come to the stadium

Not a bad shout Rich, but would only the cost entice new people to purchase, i think we all know that it will be the same 100 - 130 people purchasing again in 2013, but what can we do in terms of incentives to get new season ticket holders?

£156 which equates to 13 games @ £12 each, entitles you 25% off in club shop and a voucher in back which entitles you to bring a friend to last home game of the season for a £5.

or

How about doing something different by selling books of 10 match tickets for £130-140, no specific games, fans get to choose when they use them, league or cup. If they bring family or friends they could use 4 tickets or so in one go, may even buy another book.

I know there will be people telling me why you cant do that, but am just trying to think of something different, to attract fans.

This is a good idea from "Hunsletnewboy" selling books with either 10;8;6; or even 3 tickets in it, the bigger the book the bigger the saving.......so a book of 3,ordinary gate price (£16) £48 .......sell em at (£14) £42 £2 saving on each ticket........

I agree mate its a cracking idea. Ideal for them supporters who may not be able to make every game in the season but possibly the odd 3 or 4, this way they still get the benefits of saving on standard match day prices but also get the flexibility to attend games when they can / want.
