It can be done, Batley only have ONE full time member of staff & a young lad that does the community work.
No one said it cant be done? The club is doing more in the community now than ever before, all i said was that it is hard.

We lost a lot of revenue from the upstairs (vice presidents) lounge where peope were paying £500 a season. Geoff Gray and his wife started staying away when we let players families into the Directors lounge. Paul Mallinson and John Morgan used to come with Graeme, and Paul always sponsored a game and took out a advert in the programme throgh his company COUNTY CARPETS. There was also the two Davids, plus the staff from the solicitors office where Sean worked, some of those also used to work in the back office for us.
Many other people who's names I can't remember and many strange reasons like "we don't come because you don't serve a buffet after the match, the pre match meal is no good to us."

You've had some interesting replies KOL, and the reason why varies--- from the names you originally mentioned both Graeme and Margaret made a decision to stay away this season to give HIST a free hand. Graeme of course is still Club President and gets regular reports from one of the HIST chiefs into what is goining on.

The HIST chief you refer to who updates Grahame is the "Club Chairman"
Geoff Gray is organising and running the Xmas sit down dinner at Elland Road, so is still actively involved with the club.
Maybe in the past the club hasn't done enough to keep sponsors happy, that is something that needs to be a priority, its no good getting a sponsor on board for them to leave after one season, we need to build up long term relationships with companies and brands and make them feel like they are a part of something.
Maybe after match buffets and a club creche maybe a start

When you get back New Orleans Hawk the hawks season will be over but there should be 1 of the amateur teams playing at home and a few Hawks supporters watch both teams,so get yourself down to a game...........I moved to the USA but follow every game and miss my rugby badly. By the way if i can escape hurricane Issac will be coming back on the 16th.

but surely its about getting your fix of watching the team youve supported all your life, wheather you go in the sponsers lounge or just sit in the stand .Sunday afternoons just wouldnt be the same without rugby - thats my original point. How you can just stop going ( financial reasons excepted ) is beyond me!
Totally agree and i think the 99% of true Hunslet fans wont be found in the sponsors lounge they will be sat in the cold on the top deck (And that's not me saying that some people who go in there are not but its mainly sponsors or people just there for a free meal and a drink as someones guest) singing, moaning and dong all the stuff RL supporters do across the country on a Sunday.

Yes that sounds like "dick"! Not sure when or why he stopped going, good bloke he was!As a kid I remember bantering with a wheelchair-bound Hunslet fan at games against yourselves both home and away. Chubby lad, short dark hair, always wore a traditional style Hunslet jersey. He'll have been in the 25-30 age bracket in the early 1990's period. Right laugh, and a staunch Hunslet fan. Last time I saw him was during your early years at the SLS, never seen him since. Anyone know him, or whats happened to him?

Ha ha you mean Mick Storey & the famous mick storey stand!!!!
Can remember when we played Huddersfield away in 1995, when he got kicked out of the directors box for ####### all over seats. All he ever had with him was white carrier bag full of tins oh and his son who often got left behind at places! I think he watches Warriors, ive seen him down there a few times
Film Star John had a few game in the Mick Storey stand but he got too much abuse sung a him from the naughty forty.
