Talking of bottle, it was not very brave of the Thatto number 6 blatantly stamping on the Leigh East player on the floor. If anyone wants to see it here's the link to the National youth league video highlights, take a look 55 seconds in, absolutely discraceful, the Leigh player was mentioned in his preview by the Thatto coach as one to watch out for, coincidence?. This must have been seen by many league officials in the video as it's so blatant, he could have broken the lads ankle with this cowardly act, so my question is, are the league going to do anything about it?

The whole Youth League has structure has been a joke this year with most if not all teams having had fixtures cancelled for whatever reason.

Statman spouting rubbish as usual. I dont think its lack of bottle that have prevented so many Thatto games from going ahead.

With their open age team not going so well he can't chelp about how great they are at the moment so has to now gob off about the 18's. What a boring man!

No not at all obviously, I wasn't at the game and didn't know about the incident my comment was purely in reference to the teams that had cancelled fixtures against our 18s the only time they seem to have played has been in cup games. Yet again this weekend the opponents have cried off.

So two points Statto ;
Point 1 ; I was not at the game but like you have the evidence to comment on so if it had been your player that had been stamped on what would your thoughts be ?
Point 2; Without regular games week in week out like we get in a traditional season has Summer rugby worked for your club and especially your U18s ?

No not at all obviously, I wasn't at the game and didn't know about the incident my comment was purely in reference to the teams that had cancelled fixtures against our 18s the only time they seem to have played has been in cup games. Yet again this weekend the opponents have cried off.

The only way is winter under the BARLA rules with regards to transfers etc, these rules came to the front to protect clubs from being raided by clubs building elite sides.....................................We know which clubs will not want to revert back to the rules that help set moral standards within the youth/junior game RFL

Lets get things into perspective :- firstly Im a Thatto supporter, and no I wasnt at the match and no I dont condone whats happened. But why such a vitriloic attack against a 17yr old who appears to have done something wrong whether accidently or not. Are we having trial by video if so lets have all matches videod at all age groups so that everything the ref missed we can report to the league. AS it stands only those that video matches will benefit from having players punished. There were by the way two incidents of Leigh players flopping on the backs of players well after the ball grounded, equally can cause serious injury.

Before people accuse me of not knowing anything, I have a lad who suffered a fractured eye socket in two places and fractured cheek and broken nose from incident at Service area game when a 'player' elbowed him in face after he was held, a few years back, resulting 4 days hospitalisation. The incident was caught on video and was reported by coaches to BARLA, to which the result was NFA. The referee stated didnt see the incident which saw a 6' 4 " player having to be carried off and kit cut off him due to blod in injuries.

I do not and will never condone foul play, whether serious or not. Untill ALL matches are videod these matters should be subject to complaints to league re refereees who failed to see incident, or correspondance between clubs NOT in a public forum which can only create bad blood between clubs.

Firstly ''accident or not'' is not an issue, secondly the lad was not even involved in the tackle in any way. To say two Leigh East players flopped on is pathetic trying to justify his actions. It was an assault, off the ball by a thug, who then showed he's a coward and ran away. Take off your Thatto glasses and see it for what it is, theirs no place in the game for that.

But he as a valid point, one I had not considered the player is still classed as a minor and we should err on the side of caution when posting about young players.
That does not condone the actions and hopefully lessons can be learned by not just the player but by us as responsible adults .

My proposal was for premier teams to video all games in their league and it went to a vote by all clubs that is why it was defeated, as the other divisions feared for the cost should it roll out to them in the future. However the Thatto Chairman who is a league club rep said he would pioneer this for the next season (2012) as of yet i nor anyone else has heard anything.

I think video evidence should be used when ever possible but to insist all teams video (even if only premier to begin) could cause lots of problems for clubs because of lack of helpers.

Pity you cant read what I said instead of continuing rant, I did say I dont condone incident... as I wasnt there and Im not a mind reader I cant say whether he meant it or not. This player is within the youth game..... are there any rules for firstly, videoing youth games and seconedly posting them on an open forum....and by the way my lad was subect to an assult by a thug from Leigh East whilst at Open age, pounchhed twice to face whilst bound in a tackle which resulted thankfully the player being sent off ... funny never appeared on video.... still i have no intent to carry this anyfurther... more interested in what is an Open Age forum.

Your not grasping this are you labsy , you are contradicting yourself by mentioning the Leigh east player who punched your son as he got sent off and was banned ,,,,,punishment done . The Thatto player did not get punished as I said earlier he is a coward

First off I only posted the link on the forum after the first post by Pluto included the link to the National Youth site. The match was also videoed by Alpha Video, appointed by the league.

In my opinion if the player Thatto player had broken the East players leg or ankle, legal action would be taken against the thatto player for assault etc.

The fact he didn't cause a career threatening injury doesn't dismiss that it was an act of deliberate assault.

If the incident is pushed under the table then the league are condoning such violence.
