God, he really is scared of Batley isn't he?
I find it hard to believe he 'wasn't allowed' into the bar post match.

Scared? More concerned about how wound SOME Batley fans have become with him and the club?

Fairly ironic then that he, himself, is so blatantly wound up about Batley Bulldogs RLFC then. He's done nothing but gripe about us in your local press over the last couple of days. He's had a go at our league position, our fans, our board and also our coach. Having said that, he probably doesn't understand what 'irony' is. The only thing that our own coach mentioned in the weekly paper was that it was a game we needed to win.

He used you as an example in regard to the bonus point system and he's virtually just asking why there is an ever-growing hatred towards him, the club and the fans. Would hardly say that's wound up... And if anything he praised John Kear, didn't he say he's a much better coach than himself?
You're just twisting everything to make it some sort of abuse directed towards Batley, calm down....

I think a fair few fans were riled about Karl's departure, although more the circumstances rather than his actual decision, as you can't fault him from wanting to go to his hometown club. Tapping up players before the end of last season was slightly out of order though. The fact he wanted to sign between 8-11 Batley players is testimony to the good work he had done at the club, but there's a way to go about it I think, and not sure KH went the right way.
There was acrimony towards some of the players too, mainly Tiger, but again more about the manner of departure than him actually leaving, i.e standing up at a Club presentation evening and saying to a packed room he wasnt going anywhere, then a week later signing for Fax.
As for Dane Manning, great player. It's a fact he loved being at Batley and wanted to stay, but when someone offers to double your pay your not going to say no....you would be out of your mind, especially when RL careers are relatively short. And I don't think even the most ardent Batley fan would hold that against him. It's sad news that he's out of the season, and i'm sure most of our fans would agree.
I dont think we are that bothered anymore really as nearly a year has passed and both club's have had good seasons, although it's obvious now that a rivalry has developed with Halifax. It certainly doesnt seem obcessive or overly nasty though in the main.
Not sure what Karl is trying to achieve with this week's press releases, the majority of which contain utter nonsense, but that's up to him. I'm sure John Kear won't need to do much to motivate our lads though as a result.
Whether Karl's tactics work or not won't be known until around 5pm on Sunday.
Here's to a good game, although obviously from our perspective a Batley win.

Are you for real? The 'better coach than myself' bit was actually a snide little dig at John Kear and the fans. Silly person. He's so wound up that for two consecutive days he's taken to the press to outline he's annoyance at our club. He could have talked about anything - Sunday's game, the weather, or his opinion on MDF kitchen worksurfaces.

He had a dig at John Kear? Get real.
And he hasn't gone to the press, the press comes to him for interviews.
Good god man get grip on reality.

How times change. Go back a couple of years,Karl working for nothing at Batley winning silverware, best thing since someone sliced that loaf.
In game terms we always fear Batley, they are always an enthusiastic team who are well coached and extremely difficult to beat, add to that the current sick list we gave makes Sundays game doublely difficult.
I am looking forward to the rugby instead of this nonsense, hope you bring a large following for a game that could see you third in the league.
