Karl took us by the scruff of the neck, gave us a good shake and was bloody good for us and we won silverware. He then did Superleague supermen which was like a 30min cv to Halifax. He got his dream job, we got John kear all good. It was what happened after that smarts a little with him taking as many players that he did. In hindsight the replacements we have got have been more than adept:

Reittie out - Potts in
Handforth out - Black in
Hesketh out - Walmsley in
Robinson out - Hirst in (I would have scoffed at start of season but we've had a full season from keegan...)
Manning out - Applegarth in. Level on this as both great players.

Looking at the above we came out ok.

If we put it into context now I have enjoyed this season far more than last season under Karl and we have had more or less the same outcome, potentially 3rd, NRC quarter final exit, valiant defeat against SL in thecchallenge cup, 2 frustrating defeats to Sheffield and a disaappointing away defeat to a promoted side (York last/Swinton this year).

We now come to the defining point in the season and see whether this team has the potential to exceed what happened last season. JK has been saying all year that his focus has been on making sure we are fresh, fit and on form at this point and he looks to have achieved this.

So tomorrow let's forget about Karl and his band of followers and cheer on our team appreciating the progression and hopefully to a home play off game next weekend!!!

Agreed! Out of the team we have this season and the ones that left for Halifax, I'd have the present one everytime. So really, KH did us a favour by taking them and letting us have a better half back than Handforth in Ben Black. I'd have Manning back though. I don't think we will have seen the last of him at loverugbyleague.com stadium! ;)

Spot on LD. It's about the Dogs, not Halifax. If we are on top form and are good enough we will win. If not, we won't. Get behind them and shout them over the line.

I think we have a better team this season than last in thanks partly to KH and recently to JK. The games have been closer and the league of better quality. Fingers crossed for Sunday and the play-offs.

**** working for nothing at Batley !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get real man , were not Bradford Bulls , he got paid

Actually Bob, the coach in question lied openly on two separate occasions in public as to what he was paid by our club. At two separate Halifax RLFC-affiliated dinners, he was asked what he was getting paid at Batley, to which he replied 'absolutely nothing, I'm doing it to put something back into the game'. Another example of duplicitous behaviour. He was, in fact, receiving very much the going rate for a part-time Championship coach - as is John Kear.

What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?

I know categorically he did get paid, and i also know that hes a big fella, so im struggling to see who would have pushed him, and why he wouldnt have flattened whoever did - so he must be lying about that. Also as said before, his brother is general manager, so unless it was Paul who pushed him, he would have been allowed in the bar.Its all mind games, and not very good ones at that, unless hes hoping it fires one or two of our players up a bit too much.John Kear just needs to read the articles out and send the team out on the field - the comments from Harrison regarding our club at the last home game are unfounded and blatant BS -a few of us had a chat with him before the game, and he eemed fine, and was laughing and jokong with other fans and officials before - perhaps he hallucinated following the bitter taste of the sour grapes of defeat.Roll on Kick off - cant wait.
