Dalton
Blackpool Scorpions
West Bank Bears
Widnes Moorfield
Albert Park
Widnes Tigers
Langworthy Reds
Irlam Hornets
Golborne Parkside
Blackbrook Royals
Leigh East B
Rylands Sharks
Higginshaw
Rochdale Mayfield B

They're playing each other once before Christmas then either playing the 2nd round of fixtures after or being split into 2 divisions for the 2nd half of the sseason (if more clubs want to switch from summer).

Blackbrook Royals

Is that the whole of the Blackbrook club or are they keeping a side in the summer too?

this approach could backfire. a club who has stuck with winter, could now plan to play summer in 2013. they could play until Christmas then opt out of NWC ready for the summer season starting in March. it'd be like the interim season was for those who played in it.

If a lot of games are called off I expect that's what will happen

It could also work in the way it's designed to work ;) and not disrupt the RFL run summer competition.

It's going to be farcical with lots of thrashings and walkovers. Some of the clubs haven't been able to raise a team for a while.

How can you make a comment like that after the organisation that was the summer season, the state and shape of the RLC outside of the heartlands and IMO your hoping that teams will not be able to raise a team, well maybe players after their farcical summer season will want to play in a traditional season, THE BETTER TEAMS COULD ALWAYS BE OFFERED A PLACE IN THE PENNINE until the BARLA conference is up and running.

The summer league in the NW was very well run apart from some problems with A teams in division 3 and 4. Many clubs have never had it better. But basing a league around basketcase clubs like Higginshaw and 3rd teams of clubs that can't raise a 2nd team. Pennine League is an option though and there are some decent clubs there.

Dalton or Golborne Parkside against Leigh East 3rd team or Widnes Tigers? What an exciting league.

you're hardly close to the situation on the ground yourself are you?

lets look at it in an evidenced based way - the 'farcical season' has led to just two sides switching back to the winter NWC. How many switched to Pennine from the NW? this is despite all the talk on these forums of mass movements back to winter and suggestions that lots of clubs were contacting BARLA and the league saying they wanted to join. the list went from 10 - 14 with those new ones being 3rd teams!!! hardly an endorsement.

FWIW - at least one of the sides who were out and out winter and on the list are seriously looking at summer 2013 and not playing on after Christmas. That's the only way I realised it was even an option.

p.s. I thought the BARLA Conference was going to be criteria based? Only a couple of sides there would meet basic criteria who are not already NCL and if they did move - then there'd be even less chance of the NWC carrying on!?

How did Wetherby win the RLC & Isn't the purpose of the 2nd team to provide the 1st team with players when they are short, the casualty being the 2nd team fixture, this is common whether it's in the summer or winter, but if you take a good look you will notice that this has been a far bigger problem during the summer and thats with part time players borrowed from Rugby Union.

The difference is the season there didn't overlap with winter. This winter season half overlaps with summer. Of the 3 clubs returning to winter only one is in a good state, the other 2 are using it as a past ditch attempt to save their club after packing in due to lack of numbers (they lost lots of players after initially staying winter, their summer move being too late to save them)

What a load of bull

Don't lie. Higginshaw and Rylands announced they were staying winter, nearly folded and then threw their lot in with summer late and packed in after a few games as they'd lost players to the clubs more committed to summer.

Higginshaw are certain to struggle for numbers as there is a Pennine league option in Hollinwood so logically winter players would gradually go there for close games that go ahead.

In all fairness Bowes your wasting your time the bottom line is Marauder knows best and you wont ever convince him otherwise, even when he cant counter an argument with anything constructive

Looking at the NWC its obvious teams wont play all of the games that are available to them they will play the ones that they can compete in and wont bother going to places like Golborne and Dalton but as long as they enjoy there rugby good luck to them
Forget Chuck and Chad I am the real legend killer

Yeah Dalton may as well not have a home ground as they'll only get 1 or 2 home games all season
