Sonics 34-18 Cents

Scoreline a bit harsh on the Cents. Although we had enough to win, it wasn't a vintage performance. They were struggling with injuries second half and we ran riot for about 10 minutes, which finally puts the game beyond them.

Happy with five wins out of the last six matches, plus a bonus point. Not a bad return given that we lost our first 11 matches!

Hemel 24-0 Bramley
Hornets got awarded 24-0 Vs Kippax

Not sure much grounds for awarding the latter either way as both clubs have collapsed

Would rather St Albans get a chance in the playoff than Bramley

1st weekend of fixtures in the traditional season, looks like winter players are still using the summer as a jolly, Fev Lions failed as well if reports are correct.

Using winter players is doomed to failure always unless you can persuade them to stay so should be banned from full season summer league.

Fev Lions will have a saving grace of Featherstone U23s having to fold when that league goes. But if they've called off a game would they face demotion to the proposed division 3?

How many have Bramley called off this season?

I think 2 for lack of players but the first one got replayed so may bit count against them unfortunately (or fortunately for you if you want a week off a Bramley game will provide)

That was my next question, will they turn up next week? Should they be allowed to compete in play offs?

My thoughts exactly. Nothing personal but it's wrong. In effect they have had an extra week off to get over any injuries / player unavailability and prepare for play offs.

Bristol deserve the chance to play. They have been a credit to the league.

Harry Jepson Trophy QF:
London Skolars A 58 Bedford 12
Bedford only had 1 sub and put up a spirited effort against a team from a division above.

The results in CL3 this weekend suggest that if teams think they'll lose by >24 points, simply default and only lose 24-0. The clubs that have defaulted should drop a division next season. There'd be no question of that if they were in NCL2 or above.
It would be a travesty if Bramley got into the play-offs after defaulting today.

If you defaulted in the CMS Yorkshire league you couldn't take part in the play off's

I agree, but mostly because that would put St Albans to 6th

Bristol should be in 6th place. If they were given a 24-0 for the game they didn't play( not their fault) they would be above St Albans.
They have a better points difference and a better aggregate over the Centurions.

Aye, just noticed that.

I was speaking to someone a few weeks ago who came up with a good suggestion (this was before the 24-0s started and they were all "postponed" and there was talk of the table being decided on win-percentage, so less applicable now), in that all the teams that played every match get ranked in order, then the teams with "postponments" get ranked on win percentage

It was a good rule but they did not promote a team to take their place sometimes just having a final.Personally id have prefered a team say finishing in 5th been promoted to the playoffs
