All thanks to the d/r system in my opinion, people dont kno how much unrest its caused within the team

That's a problem that could yet grow, in light of the changes afoot with the SL Academy system - on which I firmly agree with the views of Daryl Powell and Mark Aston - i.e. its all about the top flight teams cutting costs, insodoing restricting opportunities for young players and gravitating the Championship to be nothing more than a set of feeder teams.

Involves an major increase in the limits for Dual Registered players from next season, further erroding the motivation for Championship clubs with ambition to develop players of their own.

Definitely not a good thing for the overall health of RL, we ought to be trying to get more young players into the game, not less.

I think the big mistake at Swinton with dual registered players for 2012 was that they were all concentrated in one area of the side. The aim for 2013 ought to be a better spread across the different positions.

Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

Cunniffe got knocked senseless in one tackle, got up staggered around and then smashed a Leigh player to bits. I suggest you get a look at the stats for his tackling. But I know youre not keen on facts....

Otherwise for once you talk a lot of sense.

My reading of it.....Being knocked senseless is what happens if you ill-advisedly try to block the momentum of an oncoming forward using the head rather than the shoulder.

About a minute later Cuniffe was then third man in on a tackle close to the line on Stuart Littler, came in late and side on when Littler had already lost all forward momentum thanks to the efforts of 2 other defenders, hardly made the key contribution to the tackle.

Fair play to him for carrying on, no doubt he's a hard enough lad and clearly enjoys the physical side of the game, but the knock was self inflicted and throughout the match he had little overall impact.

How can any sportsman struggle with motivation. I want lads playing for the lions who will bleed blue blood. not ones who need a cuddle each and every week.
Dont worry, it will soon be Christmas!

Very easily, its human nature and therefore a very complicated topic in itself - not just in sport. A massive part of the skill of a good coach is to recognise what works best with each individual, while recognising some aspects of motivation go beyond a coach's remit.

You've worked for the club in a professional capacity yourself in the past. During that time did you never have a single moment of a day where your focus ever dipped below 100% for any reason, inspite of your obvious devotion to the cause? In reality we all have peaks and troughs, to some extent.

What matters with David Mills is whether the factors that led to some performances earlier in the campaign being certainly below-standard can be put behind him, or not.

I assume Penny had a slight injury as he was certainly stripped and took part in the warm up. I think it was always going to be a mistake putting Dodd and Foxen together - from a defensive point of view - should have had Reay on from the start, again I thought Reay had a good game. I think also Mills came with a big reputation and has never shown to my mind at least - ok yesterday he was better butnothing special - sorry but that's my view.
I think we probably ony had four or five attacking opportunities and scored twice and had one dissallowed - Darren Hawkyard was a deserved MOM - he always punches above his weight.

Ainscough's try showed the weakness in the Leigh team (and his natural ability) and mid way through the second half when the Leigh went away the Leigh supporters behind me said Mort did not have the pace to catch - well of course he did.....:)

Considering the relative positions of the two teams etc - I thought the team did well yesterday.

You clearly have never ever played the game. It is not always possible to perfect the perfect tackle and for me if his head got in the way but he stopped the attacker then good on him.the fact he then re-gathered himself and carried on contributing to other tackles either as second or third man is testimony to a dedicated player.

Unfounded "Finger poking and name calling" again, Alan?I had a very clear view of the whole incident. In that sort of situation you don't set yourself up to take the impact with your head. Perhaps that was the way you used to make a tackle when you won your 50 Great Britain caps? If so, it would explain a lot.

So it's ok for you to constantly call our players on a regular basis, despite them giving it there all.!! You still haven't answered the question of if you have ever played.?
Oh and by the way I must look for those GB caps.!

I don't comment on individual players, but my take is that every single one of them who crosses that white line has my full respect. Guts and commitment are surely two qualities they undoubtedly possess?

felt sorry for Dale, he was clearly in pain/struggling, but 1 minute later was involved in another tackle.
Easy to be picky when you are a supporter....full credit to the guy.
TRY PLAYING THE GAME !!!!..........****

The man from Leigh makes a good point. Chaz I'Anson has been one of our best tacklers all season and he was knocked out cold. Sometimes it happens, it's part of the game, credit to the lads putting their bodies on the line.
