Ainscough's try showed the weakness in the Leigh team (and his natural ability) and mid way through the second half when the Leigh went away the Leigh supporters behind me said Mort did not have the pace to catch - well of course he did..... :)

You certainly exploited the weakness ;)...... regards Mort tackling Pownall short, good tackle by the way, if Pownall had n`t checked his run he`d have scored but he made the mistake of giving Mort a chance. Was your 17 Ashall, feisty little runt is n`t he ;)

Morts tackle was pure class! He never once panicked, weighed up the situation and executed the tackle to perfection.

Actually - and I guess I will be heavily criticed here - but I do not think Armstrong's centre play really is that good - for me he never looks to feed his winger - seems more intent on trying to run the ball in himself. Yesterday in the second half he chose to kick - when the better option would, having already drawn the opposition centre and wingerin, to feed Hurst - ok not a lot of room on the touch but enough to put Hurst away. Yes I have played the game albeit at University and Open Age - and that was a good few years ago now..........I think with all aspects of the game play has changed - it used to be rare for centres to score often - make a break yes but then feed the winger............

I agree Wayne_r Tom Armstrong doesn't often look for his winger. For me he has had just an ok season, nothing special. However you can see potential and I'd take a punt on him again next year.

Lets mention it, right in front of the crowd and coach on the touch line on half way, Leighs winger literally walked round Foxen with only about a yard gap. Say no more. Not good enough.

Not good in defence on the wing Parky, going forward on the wing he is awesome. Did you see his try at Doncaster away? One of the best tries I have ever seen.

Foxen for second row is the way forward with his pace power and awareness of the line he would rip sides apart in this league

That`s a very strong statement to make.

felt sorry for Dale, he was clearly in pain/struggling, but 1 minute later was involved in another tackle.
Easy to be picky when you are a supporter....full credit to the guy.
TRY PLAYING THE GAME !!!!..........tart

Leyther.

Taking a point out of context, then launching into something off topic that you know absolutely nothing about, topped off with a touch of personal abuse. You ought to be in politics.
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

It is, but at least in the second row Rob Foxen would possibly make a half decent Championship player. The defensive frailities he carries when playing as a winger mean in that position he's no chance.

I agree Mark. Dale has tackled his heart out over the last few seasons and never takes a backward step. Good luck to him and Mike Down under.

I thought Sunday Darren Hawkyard was the best player on that field. The way he rolled off the 3 tacklers in the first half and made good yards was brilliant, he has really improved as a player. I just hope we can keep hold of him. Like Phil said the Dodd and Foxen pairing does not work.If Rob had a decent centre with him maybe he wouldnt be so exposed .

for me I would get ridd of dodd and forget about Foxen on the wing and have him in the pack and look at forming a new centre and wing partnership, could put Reay in there and bring another winger in?????

Sam Reay needs more game time before we can really judge his potential in this league especially after being out for so long, agree that Foxen would be much more useful as a second row as he already has the power/strength to match most forwards combined with a superior flat out speed if he were to break the line, also being at second row would not expose his defensive frailties as much as the wing position does. Ideally we need a new face a half back as an option to the lads we already have as I dont think that Watson has the speed to be a full match threat at this level anymore (not meant as an insult as he has been my favorite player for a long time) and at least three big forwards and probably a quality centre to replace Higson if he has decided to jump ship, also imperitive we keep hold of Mort he has the goalkicking ability to win us games and is the best kicker we have had since Greg Pearce and keep Penny as I believe he is always a threat with the ball in hand and haven't seen him make any glaring mistakes on defence either. Oh for another Mark Riley to appear on the scene in the off season!

Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little.
