Woohoo! Sheffield away!
We have to beat this losing streak to them at some point so it will have to be this time! We definately owe them this one!
On another subject, how are they able to play between 2 stadiums per season? I'm only having a moan about it because Don Valley is such a ###### hole.

Is that the official draw?I would have thought. Featherstone v Keighley.
Leigh v Batley.
Halifax v Sheffield.

Top 2 play off and winner goes straight to final.
Then 3 v 6 and 4 v 5 - winners play each other losers go our.
Then the winner of that plays the loser of the top 2 game away for a place in the final.
What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law

Probably completely wrong but didn't we turn them over in a play off at DV when Tommo ripped them apart?

Sheffield looked outstanding for 30 minutes yesterday with really crisp movement and passing at pace although they do exploit "line balls" somewhat. However, when Dewsbury stuck to the task and continued to battle back they got a bit rattled. Believe it or not we could have won it at the end (they got a try & goal on the hooter) which would really have been a travesty on the basis of possession, but does show that they are quite vulnerable.
Their pack gave their half-backs all the room in the world to play and this is where you will win or lose it.
It should be a very interesting game.

Sorry chaps but i can't see anyway we can win this one they just have too much pace and power for us.
It will be the usual story match them when Hirst and Walmsley are on then get trampled when they go off.
They will attack down their left side all day very effective at it Yere,Knowles,QLT and Brambani do it every
game plus the fact they know how to beat us their confidence will be sky high, and i think ours may have
taken a little knock yesterday hope i'm wrong but the hoodoo they have on us is there for all to see.

I would bring Preece back at Full-back and put Potts on the wing in place of JC to beef up the defence.

Rodders ... Whitehaven used to have the same hoodoo on us and didn't what kind of side we had out we could never beat them.. then first win in yonks against them and won 2 or 3 on the trot against them even up at up there as well .. so who knows

You should know by now Nigel Rodders doesn't do optimism it's too big a disappointment.
The last time i felt that low after a defeat was when we lost to Doncaster in 94.

Urgh that day still haunts me....
The only time I've been on the verge of tears at a rugby game.
Pessimism is a natural trait for a Batley fan, although if we carry on in the vein we have the last couple of years that might start to change.
I'd personally 'split' Alex and Keegan for this game, with one starting. It might also be an idea to swap the halves in the defensive line as usually we have Moore on Brown's side, which has seen a number of tries conceded this season. Not necessarily through individual fault, but seems to be a weak area in general for us. And Black's defence seems excellent now, especially in comparison to his first few pre-season games.
There's also an arguement to say stick Bretherton in the centre opposite Yere, I.e a bit of extra size, to see if we can nullify that threat somewhat.

4. Bretherton
5. Brown
6. Black
7. Moore
8. Smith
9. Menell

Who have you dropped from the Halifax game to put Scott in?
