I was more caught by the news that Lupton has done his cruciate and Rooney was waiting for an operation on his. You may be lucky to be starting next season with those injuries. Hopefully they get operated on and into rehab soon. All the best to both.

Typical "sensationalist" Haven Fanzine and Star headline....... Why couldn't they put "Town cleared after betting scandal rumours"

Cant for the life of me think which pathetic pack of losers would start a rumour like that.
It suggests there’s nothing in it apart from the west Cumbrian rumour mill being in overdrive.”

The 4 players who play in blue and white and the lady Haven fan in the betting shop were just figments of someone's vivid imagination, it seems. The RFL were correct about the "west Cumbria rumour mill working in overdrive"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember when .............................
"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Probably because Town had nothing to be cleared of. If they had put that it would have suggested that Town had been accused of something when they hadn't just in some people's minds!!!!!!!

The RFL needs their heads examined for even starting an investigation.
Totally unbelievable rumour from day one.

He should be named and shamed, but rfl are ridiculous reacting to rumour with no evidence what so ever. It just shows the men at top are blithering idiots and have a lot to answer for. It also needs to apologise to the Gateshead team, they gave there heart and soul at beat one of the leagues big boys, but the rfl still managed to take the shine off it for them.
