Storm actually headed the ladder continuously from Round 4 to Round 19. They'd built up such a lead that their run of losses gave them a buffer for four weeks at the end of that table topping residence.
It's fair though to say they had a 'mixed' middle section and haven't dominated as consistently as they have in the past. As for Rabbitohs they have the strengths you list but don't always put the pieces together well.
I speak as one who has tipped them usually on their wrong weeks and had some of their top players in and out of my fantasy team when again they have tended to be inconsistent.
This is not anti Rabbitohs because if they do fire on all cylinders Storm will have to be at their very best to come out on top. An example of their Jeckyll and Hyde approach is Dave Taylor who can be a world beater one week and then relatively standard in another. So tipping that one just depends on what momentum and tactics each of the two teams adopt and can sustain on the day.
I think it's a very close call but will go for a Storm win by 6 points.
There's been so many up and down performances by a lot of the top 8 teams in the second half of the season that the only real safe bet I reckon is Bulldogs - the most consistent team in that time. Manly look impressive either for a whole or sometimes half a game but could be seen as second favourites.
Grand Final winners? Storm of course - but then I would say that wouldn't I?

Even if the Storm do lose, I can see them beating either the Raiders or Sharks to make the final four - then anything can happen.
