interesting stuff there . i know womens games were played prewar in yorkshire but the item you posted looks much more organised .
ah a sunday night in front of the telly watching old rugby league games.
does life get any better .

Yes, Billy Batten's XIII played in 1921 for the Miners' Strike and again in 1926 for the General Strike. Work is being done on those teams involved, but given the time that has lapsed sources are limited as none of the players are with us any longer.

Four ladies are still with us from the Marsh and Quay teams in Workington, and it is hoped that a reunion event is possible in the future. I shall keep everyone posted. :)

keep the good work up certainly an interesting part of our great game which i enjoy reading about
