nah, nothing gruckerish in being sceptical but it may be worth pointing out that glenn has been coaching at various levels for about 10 years so is not a rookie .
Was only messing GFDU! Think it's an excellent appointment for you guys.
Obviously I want us to stuff you twice a year but at the same time would prefer to see two very strong Heavy Woollen sides, and subsequently some cracking derbies.

well its been a long long time since i left the stadium feeling so excited about the future
this afternoon as various rumours had been bounced around on the mill,i felt sorry for PB
who i thought had done a fantastic job with his 3 game stint, and a change in the team was evident and i would have been
happy with his appointment as new coach.
but after hearing a young coach keen to cut his teeth at head coach level, the excitement felt in his voice dismissed any doubt that this was a wrong appointment, this is a man who has close connections to more than one super league club & respected highly by fellow professionals thoughout the game.
as i took my seat and expressed my disappointment of some players who have lacked loyalty back to the club to GFDU
his reply was ''there is no loyalty in rugby league'' my reply ''well there should be'' within seconds in was announced by mr sawyer that james craven had resigned on with us.
personally i felt a sense of proudness & honor that a young lad with a big future in the game wanted to play for his hometown
club regardless of so called bigger teams throwing stupid amounts of money at him.
WELL DONE & LOTS OF RESPECT TO JAMES CRAVEN !!
next up is mr steve crossley now of featherstone
today i called steve a judas for taking his 30 pieces of silver, but after hearing tonight our chairman explain what went on with steve & what featherstone had thrown on the table to pull him away, this is a young man with a great future in the game
and also a young family so mark advised him to take the deal because he would be silly not too,and mark wished him well
and asked supporters to do the same as in reality he didnt want to leave,so with that
STEVE CROSSLEY I WHOLEHEARTEDLY APOLOGIZE FOR MY COMMENTS THIS AFTERNOON
so welcome aboard glenn morrison and i hope you show everyday the excitement you showed this evening
and im sure every Rams fan will give you their full & relentless support.
now finally the question of player loyalty
directed as 2 individuals in particular to the first next time you need to prove a point to a team you never wanted to
leave in the first place...dont use their near neighbours to highlight the point because basicly you make yourself look
a bigger **** than you orginally was specially when those supporters took you too their hearts.
and to the second player, disgusted with your lack of respect & lack of loyalty to the club & fans who stood by your
in your low times, thru injury & law breaking (alleged) you have to live with your actions, where as now we move on and forget, only to remember 3 times a season when we play you....where im sure YOU WILL GET IT LARGE FROM ALL AT DEWSBURY....fans wise that is
this appointment has the ''coolie seal of approval''
well done mark sawyer
coolie
I predict that Coolie will be moaning again by may 2013.
it's the only thing that keeps him happy.

Fair enough, it's just difficult to measure whether it's a good appointment when there isn't a Championship level track record.

Can understand where you are coming from Akro, but don't forget Ned K was a speculative punt at the time of his appointment, and he gave us a fairly successful period. On the other hand, tried and trusted coaches like Maurice B, Tony Fisher and AK didn't exactly set the world alight for us did they ? GM came accross as articulate, intelligent, knowledgeable, likeable, enthusiastic and modest, but didn't make rash promises he might not be able to keep. The one thing he did say, which won me over completely, was his assurance that his teams would play expansive and attractive rugby - thats exactly what I wanted to hear, because I would sooner we were a mid table side playing entertaining rugby, than a top four side grinding out results. Thought MS was excellent in his summary of where we are as a club - I never thought I'd trust a bookie, but mark is an exception, I'd even trust him with Piggys wife. It is a mark of the mans loyalty that he made sure the fans were aware of steve crossleys desire to remain at the club, and that he himself had advised him to take fevs offer - class. He also brought home something I hadn't even considered, ie if the players at a low budget club like the rams are on 8k contract money, that would be arround 200k a year. If the average crowd for this year was 1000, even if we all payed through the gate, that would be 140k - a significant shortfall that doesn't even take into account match fees. So how the hell do less well supported clubs outbid us without breaking the salary cap ?Careful with comments like that Ackroman...GFDU will be suspecting you of being the infamous Grucker;)!!!
Coolie sums up the rest of my thoughts.

Interesting point especially considering that we generate significant income from the car boot and entertainment facilities. Clubs without such additional income streams or a sugar daddy must depend simply upon gates etc plus sponsorship. In one or two cases that leaves me scratching my head how they attract the quality of players that they do.

Vic Hey coached Dewsbury in the 1940's.Will he be the first Australian to coach at Dewsbury? I can't think of any others off hand.

Do we know the names of GM's support staff yet?
In the next week or so we will. Glens in talks with Richard Slater , although he didnt name him but did say a former player of the club and another guy at the minute. All will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Drinking again, I see. I'd probably need to down a couple of cans of Special Brew myself to understand the above drivel.
