Really rate Faal, and we know all about George, just hope JK can help him recapture his form when he was first here.
Good start to the recruitment, more to come.

Two good signings. This time last year we hadnt signed anyone. Looks like were going to have a top squad next season. I still want Ash and Danny to sign for '13.

Good signings for us.
Faal, although had a few injuries is very much a strike player, strong with decent pace and good hands. Makes break too, something we've missed a bit out wide lately.
As for George, he showed glimpses of what he can do last year, and looked good in the Rams games i've seen this season. Lots of talent, excellent tryscoring record and very dangerous ball in hand. The key is getting is head in the right place and cutting out the 'brain farts' he's occasionally guilty of, which hopefully JK is the man to address.
Coupled with Davies from Cas and the players already signed on, things are starting to look very promising.
Would like to see Ash retained as he's been absolutely excellent for the second half of the season. Bretherton too as he gives us solidity and consistency in the Second Row.
Be interesting to see what happens with Alex Brown as well, as there seem to be permanent rumours abound that he's heading to SL.

Will be an interesting duel between Paul Mennell and George for the 9 shirt. But can only be good for the team as both will need to be on top of their form to hold their place as No.1 for that spot.

i would imagine this spells the end for Kris Lythe too, hasnt featured at all recently and another hooker on board will almost certainly open the exit door for him? Will be an interesting duel between Paul Mennell and George for the 9 shirt. Heard Kris was retiring at the end of the season, but could be totally wrong.

Maybe the curse of the Testimonial. Mark Toohey retired not long after his and if what your saying above about Kris is true. Maybe the Testimonial is the curse....any news on Danny Maun resigning yet?

It's hardly a curse by the nature testimonials mean you have played the game at a top level for 10 years and you would be in the twilight of your career when you receive one anyway.

I think Danny has another season in him although he will have a fight for his place in the team a little harder than previous seasons. Great defensively and still has a lot to give.
I agree I would like to bretherton sign for next season too. Has Mark Applegarth signed for next year?

Would like Bretherton signed up he can only improve and he's already a cracking player.

IMHO, Bretherton's had a poor season in comparison to his 2011 efforts. He remains a solid performer, but doesn't seem half as potent on attack. If he was to leave I wouldn't be massively upset - based on this seasons performances.
Faal is a very good, important signing IMO. We've really missed a centre who can break tackles and supply a wingman with quality ball this season. Danny Maun just doesn't have the attacking impact he used to, with the the best will in th world. In terms of Flanagan, I'm not going to make myself look like a hypocrite and now declare that hes the best thing since sliced bread - he's clearly not. However, if Kear can work to eradicate the weaknesses in his game such as discipline and defence, then I guess he could be an effective player for us. Look how much Keegan Hirst has improved - as Harold Shand predicted he would when he signed for 2012. A good coach can work miracles with a bit of potential to mould.

What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?

Just err on the side of caution with Ayden Faal. Yes he can feed a winger and bust tackles I agree. But tell me in 6 months time what you think of his defence. We've shipped some points this season and Mr Faal was a willing helper in this department for the opposition. I wouldn't be surprised to see Brev back at Dewsbury. I don't think he ever wanted to leave. But I don't think WJ was a big fan. Maybe now with GM as coach he might consider a return.

There have been persistent rumours that Bretherton will be joining Batifax for 2013. However, that's all they are - rumours. As I said, I wouldn't be that upset to see him leave. As for Faal's defence, I'll make a judgement on it when he's had a season playing under a decent coach for the first time in a long while.
