Karl Temata has agreed a deal to join French side Limoux Grizzlies for the 2013 season.
Since joining the London Broncos from NZ Warriors in 2005, the fans favourite has amassed 137 appearances in his eight years in the capital, scoring eleven tries.
The prop’s best campaign came back in 2009 when then manager Brian McDermott named him the club’s Player of the Season due to his “dedication and immense workrate throughout the season”.
This season Temata has struggled to hold down a place in the Broncos squad and he is now looking forward to a new challenge with Elite One side the Grizzlies.
“It’s going to be a bit of a shock when I leave as after eight years it’s become a way of life. I’ve been here for a long time and the likes of Chad (Randall), Dorny, Tony Clubb and David Howell have become close friends. I’m looking forward to a bit of a change but I’ll be coming back and definitely keeping in touch with the lads here.”
Broncos head coach Tony Rea saluted Karl’s tenure at the club and wished him all the best for next season. "Karl has been a terrific servant to the club and a tremendously popular guy. He’ll certainly be missed and we wish him all the best down in France.”
