I don't recall any statements from Town reporting that they didn't know what was happening with Matty and that they were going to have to ask around other clubs - that is what you are suggesting and is pure speculation on your part unless you can provide the proof.
Personally, I don't think the Town bod would be that unprofessional to have to rely on asking other clubs what was happening to one of their top assets.

And it also seems some jameaters a little upset about this, after being 100% certain he had signed for their morally bankrupt heap. you seem pretty sure about whats gone on, do you have any proof or just more random hyperbole.
This all makes me laugh,it seems that some Workington town fans are so desperate to get one over their nearest rivals and for mattinson to sign for them they are preparedto accept any kind of behavior from him.The way he has behaved over this issues is deplorable and has shown no respect to either club or their supporters.Up until a week or two ago Workington had no idea what was going on with mattinson because he was telling them nothing, they were even asking other clubs if they had signed him to try to get a handle on what was going on.It was only after they found out he had agreed terms with Whitehaven and signed a pre contract that they then came back to him with a much improved offer, which one club member described as massive.Only after this did he make Workington aware of what was going on and agree to sign for them.
He has all but held the club to ransom with his antics and shown them very little gratitude for how they treated him last year.If this was the other way around or any other club for that matter im sure Workington town fans would be using the term mercenary. The player is the only one to blame in all this ,no one forced him to sign for whitehaven and now one forced him to then sign for town both were of his own free will and show him to be interested in only one thing money.
Think you will find Matty signed for Town for less money but he knows he will get paid there.
He must have had second thoughts signing for Whitehaven's liars and cheats. You know the old saying a leopard never changes it's spots. How lucky was Matty.
By the way your ramblings remind me of Boxer on the Shaven site and you always talked rubbish on there.

Of course he did mate.He signed for whitehaven because they offered him more than workington did,he then signs for town for less!!!!!! 3 year mega bucks deal mate thats why he changed his mind and Workington fans are over the moon about it silly people.
Haven fans are experts on Town financial goings on,. yet they overlook their own morally bankrupt clubs financial failures.

Oh bless, look who it is.
HarryClint = Harry Callaghan on the Haven forum. Clint Eastwood = Dirty Harry = Harry Callaghan = HarryClint.
You post nothing but bile about Town on the other site, but I guess we shouldn't expect anything more from such a sad bitter man who has a huge grudge against Town.
Get over the fact that Town sacked your best buddy Ged, move on man let it go. The bitterness will drive you mad...oh hang on a minute......

Harry isn't a Haven fan, he's just someone who has a very bitter personal grudge against Town. He couldn't care less about Haven, this is just an opportunity for him to spout his anti-Town bile.

Well done Town signing Matty, now lets move on and get some more signings made.
"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

yeh lets wind them up even more by getting Thacks to have an innocent chat with his good
GB mate Stuart Fielden. Im sure theres a few ex SL players where Thacks will be used as a conduit
by the club.
There's a decent Cumbrian winger just been released by Hull that would go down well at Town - Will Sharp, played well for Cumbria against England.
