You were better than Donny , Barra and Haven here. Your pack made great yards , the number 10 was outstanding , you offloaded well and were quick round the ruck , and your halves pulled the strings. You defended your line almost throughout the second half and broke away twice and scored both times!! You did tire though and looked out on your feet late on . But you scored some nice tries, beat us up front for long spells , and probably should have won .
You played entertaining footy off a good base laid by the pack . If you'd have got that team on the paddock all term you'd be up no worries. On the negative side you gave a fair few penalties away and overstepped the mark on the physical side at times to say the least , with some head shots , some niggle, a sin bin for a trip and a biting allegation. But overall you should be proud of your side.

I suspect the biting allegation was a ploy to throw Acton off his game. I certainly hope so as the game didn't deserve that. Very close game could have gone either way. Good luck to Workington who came through in a thrilling game of rugby. Our pack was outstanding and stood toe to toe never taking a backward step. Acton sin binning after 4 mins was due to the lad being too wound up something he needs to watch. Acton, Boults,Gilchrist,Joy,Langtree were a force to be reckoned with.Greenwood unlucky with the bounce of the ball on the killer try. Could have done with Onyango who has added much go forward in recent weeks but he pulled out before kick off. Something for CH to learn from. Once again our best performance of the season has occured with no loan players. All on show were signed lads who train week in week out to wear the shirt. Too many times this season we've included loan players who don't train all the time at the drop of a hat. What did this do to team preparation, moral and team spirit. Next year may be even worse with the re-shaping of the super duper league U20's where we may nursemaid some of their up an coming. Me, i'd rather develop lads who've put pen to paper for the club and will be runing up in all weathers before Christmas to get in shape for next year. Today was a good marker for the future IF CH can retain the good young lads. Great credit must go to dogger. He's transformed this team using simple tactics, support and enthusiasm and brought back some belief and respect at the end of a difficult season. He must be allowed to continue this influence in teh new regime whoever is No1.

If Acton was the bloke in the head bandage he was the best player on the paddock.

Yup Acton is the guy with the bandage. And I agree he was the pick of the crop on show today when he was on the pitch.. But and it may be harsh he got sent off against you last time, was sinbinned toady after 4 mins, was accused of biting had and one guy in ahead-lock today which could have led to a sending off and gave away a needless penalty in front of the sticks with 3 min to go so needs to keep a lid on his agression if he can have the maximum impact. The best teams keep 13 on the pitch and penalty count low. Oldham havn't done that this season.

He's had hamstring troubles and snapped his achiles end of last season so I believe he had tight hamstrings in the warm up and so pulled out. Pity as he's been a big influence in the last couple of games with great go forward and his personality lifts the lads when times are tough. No excuses though, could have gone either way and like you say I think we ran out of gas into the wind in the second half.

Walked out of DP knowing we were very lucky to get that result and were 2nd best for the majority of the game. Oldhams pack made yards with ease throughout the game and even though we Town fans can say we were poor I think it was more Oldham were superb. We had to rely on individual excellence to win the game, and that is down to an excellent Oldham display. unlucky today lads, good luck next season.
