Just heard matty has phoned club to say they have popped it back in n wants to play next week againts haven

well if thats true that he wants to pull a town shirt on next sunday to play against the jam that kind of goes against the jambo fans rumours saying he's keen to go back to haven.

What town need is a full team down at derwent park tuesday,s and thursday,s training. I think the coaches should make sure that they do for the next 2 or 3 games.

If only Oldham performed like that all year, we wouldn't be sat here wondering if players were going to jump to the jam or not. Very good effort by the roughyeds and on the game as a whole I would say the best to lost, although you can have all the skill and power in the world but we have massive heart and there's no substitute for that.

Our fitness wonky has been a big factor this year to . We're conditioned to play for 80 minutes and it tells late in games.

Yeah you could see that today, they were exhausted with about 20 to go and jase mossop is putting that lung buster in, in the final few moments.

I thought we were poor yesterday and were lucky to get the win. Hewer was bizarre to say the least, first he gives the Oldham lad ten mins and then seemed to go on a crusade to even things up. Anakins try was ruled out, and then their try when Calderwood stood and watched was a clear knock on for me, many other dubious decisions seemed to go against us too. But we are through to fight again. Just hope we play better next week or it will be a long afternoon. Peterson will make a difference to us next week as his passing is far superior.
Millers try yesterday has to be my try of the season, he put the burners on and left their fullback running in treacle - awesome! Anyone know the Anakin crack? Surely he isn't dual reg then??
Was gutted for Matty yest but hopefully its not too bad.
Hope next week is a cracker and we get a good crowd and a good result. Up the Town!

I think a lot of the players should be congratulated for playing out of position yesterday, Karl is more a loose forward than a hooker but plays out of his skin there, we lose them darting runs from dummy half without matty(as you would with nearly any replacement) but his handling and strength make up for it and is growing in every game and is becoming a top deputy. Brett carter played in a position he's played only a handful of times and by the end of the game was my man of the match. Superb step and dart for his try and put an inch perfect pass in for gus try. Most have complained for a halfback to take the line on and Brett does it on frequent occasion. Ell miller is the best winger in the division, yet he slots into full back like he's played there all his life. And another big mention for gus, maybe lost a yard on 2 in pace but gives it his all and still knows where the try line is,and let's remember this is s guy who should be enjoying his retirement but is still turning up and never putting a foot wrong for us. Roll on next Sunday.

Agreed but it's costing us as every week is different and hence there is a lot of uncertainty manifesting itself in errors , poor decision making and wayward passing. We just didn't click at all yesterday and it just shows what guts and determination and fitness we have though to come through that. Oldham probably deserved it for a much smarter and solid performance but some sublime individual moments of skill and the team's never say die attitude did for them.

Hope Peterson is available now and can slot in at 6 and we can go back to a structure we're more accustomed to as I agree Haven are slight favourites now and we will need to be at our best to win it. Calderwood takes some (justifiable) stick but are we playing to his strengths ? Olstrum filling in well at hooker but I just wish sometimes he'd trust himself more to pick up and go , seems to hesitate a bit. Forber takes some stick but I think he's showing improvement; he's successfully taking the line on more; he's defending well and some kicks are coming off. Also gutted for Matty, but if he does come back next week it would be something special.

WE ARE TOWN and the Roller coaster ride is not over just yet !

Agree with all that Wonky. Olstrum has been superb the last few games, and while you can tell Carter isn't a natural stand off he has enough quality to be effective there. I like Miller at fb as he is involved more. If he goes back out to the wing this week I'd keep Gus and drop Calderwood as he offers very little.

Oldham also got a try from Hewer giving a penalty when we were in possession with Stack right on their line... Agreed about Dave at 6 . Passing is so important there and both ways at that . Without that the rest out wide are marginalised. His passing is crisp and his level of involvement is simply inspirational. He brings a SL mentality.

Sorry i have to disagree with haven being slight favourites. Why make them favs? They had players who limped off yesterday too according to RC. I hear people saying their tails are up. So what? Yesterday was perfect preperation for us. Another performance like yesterday minus the errors and sloppy passing and i think we will win.

I agree town4me, no way should haven be favourites, were a better team and it's as simple as that. Remember the team we put out in the ike game and still won. Yes they won yesterday, but Rochdale aren't a great outfit away from home. I wouldn't read too much into either teams performance yesterday.

I agree. We are still winning games when we still have so much left to give and with so many sloppy spells. We have more improvement and more to show than they do. We just need to cut out the sloppiness and refind our patience and structure and we are more than able to hold them . Yes theyll fancy it but it all comes down to this for me - look at the team sheets and tell me who has the better individuals??? And we have Carter and Miller , who wherever you play them are sheer uncontrollable match winners against anyone in this league.
