Good news from the club though and, considering a fairly underwhelming season this should offer a degree of optimism about the crowds that some relative success might bring.

I have to assume we had a few very good attendances to get those averages up - obviously the dogs and the top three were decent crowds, but for the most part they seemed to me to be arround 800. Maybe we should just play the dogs every week like an ongoing state of origin.I can think of at least one speccie who's increased this year.

Sheffield and Batley must be thinking what they have to do to bring the crowds in,wonder what they would get with a losing team.If the Rams could get a good team for 2013,i think we could maybe push up the att to around 1300/1400.Just found this elsewhere:

Think it shows BSJ that there is interest for the sport in that part of the world. The club just has to be well run and live within its means and it will prosper.
Agree completely Fred. this is pretty well from a standing start considering the disappointment of last year so they should find it encouraging.
