The Bulldogs have swooped to sign full-back Miles Greenwood, 25, fresh from a successful season in Co-operative Championship 1 with the Oldham Roughyeds.
A product of Oldham St Annes, Greenwood was on the books of St Helens, Widnes and Leigh before enjoying a successful four-year spell at the Shay with Halifax. A stylish and skilful full-back with strong pace, he is expected to be a great addition to the squad for next term.
Story shortly to appear on website.

Preece has struggled with form and fitness this year so maybe a change in club might help him get back to his best. Whatever happens I'll wish him look!!

Good signing. Think he was top try scorer at Oldham this year and their fans wanted to keep him.

The downside of not having a 'A' team im affraid. Yes im aware of the costs and management that are required to run a second team. But having a large squad, it is difficult to keep the non playing players, find form and match fitness.

Decent defender, pacey and a try scorer. Add him to Potts, JC, Brown (possibly), Walton and Faal, and on paper we have a very useful back line.

speaking to a Fax fan today who would have him back in a flash.
PM , i have heard exactly the same from fax fans , heres what he won
FULL-BACK Miles Greenwood won each of the three major trophies at Oldham RL Club’s end-of-season awards night.
Supporters, his fellow players and caretaker coach Martin Roden all chose the Roughyeds’ Batley-bound top try scorer as their player of the year.
In his one and only season with his home-town club, the former Leigh and Halifax No 1 scored 20 tries — eight more than his nearest challenger, Alex Thompson.
“Scoring was the easy bit,” said Greenwood.“The forwards and the halfbacks did all the hard work, so in picking up these awards I am representing the full squad.
“As for leaving to sign for Batley, it was a big decision because I have really enjoyed my time at Oldham.
“I’m very pleased to have had a year here — it was a season I will never forget.”
Roden, who ended the season as boss, said of him: “He didn’t get my award just for his tries. When we were under pressure in our own 20-metre zone he was often first in for the scoot to get us out of the trenches.”
Describing his season’s work as “outstanding”, club chairman Chris Hamilton told Greenwood: “You were equally as good in attack and defence. On behalf of the club, thank-you for your contribution and good luck at Batley.”
