Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.<div align='center'></div>

Can't blame them not wanting a club to play half a season. Not sure what kind of league Birstall will end up in though.played summer so pennine won't let them in.

Think it's more a case of they're playing summer next year and the Pennine League didn't want to admit a team that was planning to pull out midseason. They just played one merit league game this summer (and maybe some friendlies)They must have applied to late to join the Pennine like Heworth

Not many teams bothering with the winter cup these days.

Been the same for a few seasons, we don't expect to win it's but it's nice to use these cups as a yardstick to measure yourself against some of the best sides in the amateur game - add to that the extra games you can get in a season to keep you active. Not many teams bothering with the winter cup these days.

I count a maximum of 5 top sides in that draw. By that I mean sides that could compete in NCL Prem & 1.
Don't get me wrong, I like the comp and the final last year was top draw. It's just a shame so few teams enter these days.

I think over the years the lower teams have said sod it, a premier or NCL side are going to win it, in the early days we used to go in it just for a jolly and over the years we've taken a few scalps of teams placed a good few division above us, probably the highest profile scalp with the most places between us and them (They where premier Yorkshire league and we where in the bottom division of the West Yorkshire Sunday league) was Bison Sports in 1976/77 season.I count a maximum of 5 top sides in that draw. I've had many a great away day in that cup. That said, I've had my fair share of dry bummings too!

Our opponents tomorrow once beat us 90odd points to very little in the Yorkshire or National cup, a couple of weeks later with basically the same two sets of players we turned them over 48 - 4I've had many a great away day in that cup. That said, I've had my fair share of dry bummings too!
