I reckon we'll miss Patch a lot, despite the string of criticism that he's had on this forum. His problem, as has been commented upon regularly, is that he's neither a stand off nor a loose forward. Wonder where tubby will play him - centre wouldn't surprise me.

Scott Murrel? Matty Wildie? Or even Cain Southernwood again who never got a chance last season?

Or Danny Nicklas at Hull? Hulls signed Holdsworth from Salford and after Chase at Cas on top of already having Horne so with no under20s next season maybe Nicklas could join on a season long loan/dual reg?
Scott Murrel? Matty Wildie? Or even Cain Southernwood again who never got a chance last season?
Or maybe go for William Barthau, he was never given a chance by WJ. A half-back that was played at full-back - what was all that about

Still think Patch didn't get the credit he was due,he will never be a stand off,but that was where he played for years,he will make a good loose forward, his best years are to come, might not be a better goal kicker in this league, our loss his Sheffield gain.He might have thought it was best to move on and start fresh, like with our coaching set up,all the best Patch,at least you didn't move over to the dark side.I'm surprised it's only been 6 years - at times it seemed much, much longer. I'm also surprised that he's only 26 - plenty of time for improvement under a good coach.

Couldnt agree more. Defo not the best stand off we have had, but he always gave 110% and is a great goal kicker. I wish him all the best....Good luck Patch, despite all the criticisms on here, you gave your all, tackled everything, played loose forward and half back and one of the best kickers in the league.

As for a replacement someone mentioned Scott Murrel. Wouldn't mind seeing him at the Tetleys Stadium sure he'd do a good job for us. He didn't sign for Hull KR and not heard if hes signed on anywhere else yet. Local lad too.

Actually Nick if he actually gave 110% he would be dead. Just thought you'd like to know.
