Not a bad outfit, got a good number 8 and it revolves around the 7 a lot, they like to overload your right flank alot. How were Westgate, Marauder?
We where poor again thou because of having only 7 of what would be our best 17 available, the good point is we still managed to put two sides out, the 2nds won 36 - 0 away at Selby `A`

From what I've seen so far yes, we arn't to far off the pace and two out of the three defeats we had the opportunity to win the game but with key players missing we forced the ball far to much in the wrong areas. So, the Marauders are struggling a bit. Do you think you'll stay up?

None played in the summer Old Papa! Why did you have so many players missing so early in the season Maraurder, hope they were not all playing for summer league clubs.
All of the players have played summer before and thats why we understand the problems that come with it, unlike your club we've seen and experienced the euphoria in the early years and the sadness of summer rugby in the last couple, because of the absenteeism on match days that had started to creep into the club we gave our players and committee the choice of Pennine, Yorkshire, Hull or the RLC about 2 years ago.
After everyone had voted the envelopes where opened at a players meeting and the result was 100% to join the Pennine, last season we won the pennine 1st division and ran a 2nd team who played friendlies because we where to late to enter them into the league, this season we have been a little bit unlucky with injuries in our pre-season friendlies and we also took about 4 more injuries (ankle) against Bank Top the other week (I've not heard if we have taken any from last weeks game) even with the injuries we've still managed to put two teams on the park and we should have a few back this weekend including 4 who played for the district side against Doncaster RLFC in their annual pre-season game.
On top of this Doncaster sides normally start the season later than the normal start date has the local pits used to traditionally close this time of the year tying holidays and the St Ledger race meeting.
Our U17's are struggling, some weeks we can't raise a team but on other weekends we have 20 odd players, I think the reasons for this has been covered by others on how hard it is to keep this age group together.

Ha Ha Ha I think i got a bite. Just to clarify my club also gave the choice to our players and committee and they were 100% for a switch to summer. Somethings do still need to be sorted with the summer league and I am confident that between the NCL Management and the clubs this will be done over coming weeks and months. With regards the other summer divisions i am not so sure what the answer is but I do believe if your 1st team play in the summer you need a 2nd team playing summer too. This season has been a bit of a stop start season for most of the teams and once again the YML management along with the clubs need to come up with a satisfactory solution within the coming weeks. The National youth league has been a joke !!!!!
No bite here just stating facts!
I did miss out that we did sit out the 2009/10 winter season to give our players a rest because we thought that was the problem, but after a few weeks we had 8 of our players turning out for Doncaster Toll Bar as well as others players going to Selby, Ackworth and the local Union team.
The only way I can see it working in the long term is having 2nd teams playing a merit type season where those who can raise a team every week can organise a game and the others can organise when and if they can get a side together. We had 50 odd players training and on two occasions in our last summer season only had 15 turn up for a game.
